HOME!!!!! YAY!!!!
I am home! I got home late yesterday afternoon and have been doing well. I still have a drain in place and that garnered lots of strange looks while I was at CVS filling my prescriptions. LOL
So, the gruesome details are this...I had a perforated ulcer that was on the BACK side of my pouch and my 'old' stomach actually moved up to cover it in an effort to protect me from leaking gastric juices...this I truly believe was God's work because I literally could have died from this.
Dr. Moazzez repaired it in what was supposed to be a 90 min exploratory laparotomy turned into a nearly 4 hour surgery to fix the ulcerated area. I had an NG tube in for four days...talk about gross. By the fourth day, I was dry heaving every 5 minutes and miserable...so, he finally yanked it.
I am incredibly blessed to have had the support and prayers of not only my church family and my own family but also my wonderful OH family. I met Mike Oxley quite by accident while I was strolling the fifth floor halls and it was nice to put a face in person to a name here.
I can never tell you all how incredible it is to feel such love and support from here. I was quite scared on Friday before the surgery and was starting to feel like I was nuts and that there was nothing wrong...but, of course, my instinct was right and I am SO glad I pushed to stay and have SOME sort of surgery to look around.
I will be resting mostly today and then I get to close on my brand new house tomorrow! Today, I am feeling very very blessed and loved.

Welcome back and glad to hear that you are getting better! I've heard that those ulcers are nasty things and am thankful that I have not had one....

Welcome home. I am glad that you were persistent and that they found out what was making you so ill. What happened to you is just another piece of evidence that God truly IS always around and that we are merely in the palm of his hand. Prayers were heard and they worked. Ulcers truly have been the 1 thing about WLS that have scared me to death. I pray that I never have to experience it. I will continue to pray for a speedy recovery and you just focus on you for now, getting you back to being Lisa so that you can continue to be Mommy. Rest and take care! Big hugs!!!
Good am Lisa,
SO glad you are home and doing better! God is the BEST! We are very blessed and I'm certainly grateful to Him for so much. I hope that you are feeling better and better and this will be a distant memory. Hugs.................

Thank goodness you are home and hopefully at the end of this saga! You havbe had an unusally rough ride and ulcers are so nasty - to date I have never had any and I am thankful for that. We all can learn from your experience too - we have to be our own healthcare advocates and insist on treatment when we know things are not right! I am so glad that you did or you would still be suffering... You are a very brave lady! I am looking forward to meeting you someday! Jackie
Lisa, Darling....I am very happy to hear that things have finally been worked out for you. You have no idea how worried I've been & very frustrated. I tried calling you at the hospital both this time & last time but could never get an answer. I so wish I had your home or cell number so I could call you. We are all wishing you a speedy recovery. And isn't Dr. Mo just the greatest? His hands & skills were obviously guided by the Lord. Now, about this new house....we want details! LOL
