Surgery time & date

Well hi to all, just to let you know, I finally talked to Fairfax surgical nurse and it looks like they will do the RNY at 1:00 Pm on the 30th of May and I'm excited to get it over with. I ordered some of the supplements from Nutraqueen who was at the OB help forum in Ashburn. That stuff is not cheap either. Maybe someone has a better source than them. I would ceertainly like to hear of them. I bought the 30 day suppy of 4 supplements from their website to get me started. I'm hoping some of you are better shoppers than I am. That pkg set me back 200 buckaroos. That equates to 2400.00 a year in supplements so I'm open to suggestions of a cheaper way to go. Approximately, how long of a hospital stay can I expect? What is the best stuff to eat after surgery as I know I won't be able to eat what I do now? Does the hosp give you a list or what? I guess there is more questions but I can't ask them yet aas I don't know what to ask. I declined the OB help from Elariny's office as that cost another $2000.00 on top of what I paid already.. albeit, they did say I would get a refund of the $3200.00 I paid if the insurance pays up, so that was good news, I think. WOW!!! Jim so many questions and so short a time lolol! There are many cheaper forms of vits and supplements - in fact ,in June you will be able to look at the powdered range we will be selling on our web suite too - www.obesityfreedom.com  -  they are not the cheapest (but far from thE most expensive too)  but my labs have been fabulous with them - or we would not be recommending them. It depends on your surgeon how long you will be in hospital but when I went it I had open RNY and was there three nights - so only 2 or 3 days I think. Your surgeon's office should go over all your nutritional requirements and give you some kind of eating plan for after surgery - as you don't have long to go I would be calling them and asking them for that.... or do they plan to charge you $2000 to just tell you how you should be eating?? I would think that should be part of the service...... they don't want to set you up to fail. And they should be telling you how they want you to eat after surgery..... if not I am sure someone here has a recent eating plan from their office they they may want to share with you.... Hope you get money back from the insurance too - if not keep appealing! Don't let them think they can dismiss you...!! Jackie

Thanks Jackie for the info---well I hope they do go over some of the nutritional requirements but with this office I can't be to sure---so far I haven't been to impressed. To late to change though so I will stick it out.. Not to sure what the 2K covers but I can't afford that as it comes out of my pocket. I will persevere and keep after them on at least some of the $$$ for refund. I'll check the website out you mentioned and thanks again...Jim

All best on the upcoming surgery, check you mail I sent you a few things to look over but have your surgeon look it over as well there all different. Keep us posted or at least have Dianna post for you. I know you will be glad it is over with and we are all here for you.... Hang in there prayers goin up for you.

The alter date is  Sept 20th Jim You hang in there lil buddy it will all be  great and by that time you will be  working on your way to a new you and riding that Harley all over the country, maybe if I get small enough Ill buy me one lol heck I wouldnt be able to hold the darn thing in the road lol...... 

Well that will be here before you know it and I try to ride as much as I can during the summer...Heck, as long as you keep moving it ain't no problem keeping it upright---it's when you let it get tilted to far to the R or L is when it is hard to hold up. Maybe we can go putting if you get one one of these days...Jim
