Bragging about my family

Not only am I losing weight, but my husband and kids are too. My husband started eating high protein at the same time I started the pre-op diet (5 weeks ago). He has lost 21 pounds. My kids have all lost a couple of pounds each. We just don't have the junk food in the house.  Also, we are spending time at the "YMCA". Tonight we stayed about 1 1/2 hours exercising and playing basketball. Lewis and my oldest son Trevor did a pick-up game of basketball and really worked up a sweat. Bryce,Carrie, and I walked 1 1//2 miles, played on the playground, and then dribbled basketball around the gym for about 20 minutes. Hope you guys don't mind the bragging. I just feel really great and wanted to share. I think I'm gonna like this new lifestyle. Before surgery, I would have cooked dinner and plopped on the couch, and munched on snacks and watched TV. But not now. Also, as today, I've lost 26 pounds.

9 of those pounds are pre-op. 17 since surgery 3 weeks ago. I weighed last Monday, and I was down 22 at that time. The scales did not move all week. I was so frustrated. But got on there today and it was down the additional 4. I've weighed several times just to make sure it was right. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Take care of yourself!!!

Penny ~ Never feel like you are bragging here, you deserve all these WOW moments.  That is awesome weight loss and awesome news about the family losing weight also.  I guess they have no choice but to eat healthier, my guys are finding that out already just 5 days after surgery.  You must be pretty strong to be able to walk 1 1/2 miles then play on the playground and then play basketball!  WOOW-ZA!  I can't imagine being able to say that in 3 more weeks!  Keep up the GREAT work and your right, no more couch potato nights for us!  Congrats.....Susan  :)

I didn't play on the playground, just the kids. And I only dribbled the ball and walked around the court, but it was still a good little workout for me. You'll be feeling good very soon, I'm sure. How are you feeling now? Is your pain getting better? Take care, Penny

In my other post, I made it sound like that I only did basketball. I walked 1 1/2 miles also.

Way to go!  you all are awesome. My family IS my inspiration, my husband runs 6 days a week, and my 12 yo daughter swims 3 miles a week (mostly at 5am before school), and also plays softball 2x a week and still pulls straight A's, i'm just losing weight to try and keep up with them! LOL, lys
