Helping Others Find Their Way to a Life They Deserve!
My weekend was absolutely jam packed! We are having a grad party for our daughter on June 14th and needed to get some house and yard projects tuned up. I think we made about 6 trips to the nursery and Lowes. There are postitves about being sooo busy..I exceeded my goals for exercising even though it is difficult to do any floor exercises with a year old Lab pup; everything is a game! I collapsed about 5PM last night after a nice hot shower. Hubby even brought me dinner in bed cause I was too pooped to come downstairs. He is such a love. Oh and we even made a trip to KMART where I got a new beach cruiser bike. I'm taking it with me when we go to Delaware to visit Leo's parents next weekend. They love to bike on the boardwalk in Rehobeth. Now I'm off to read A womans Devotional with a cuppa, listening to the sounds of nature. Have a wonderful, blessed day.

Howdy howdy all! An entertaining weekend was had. We wound up doing the New Market event after all but Dennis totally screwed up my schedule on Fri by not making a decision until noon. So Matt & I rushed like crazy people trying to shop for weekend food, fill the truck & gas cans (gas cans for the generator). In the midst of our running about Dennis calls asking is we could track down a gas cap for Alain's truck. Apparently when the convoy from Culpeper stopped for gas, Alain forgot to put his cap back on. So Matt dropped me at the store & then went off to track down the ellusive gas cap. Mike took half day off so of course he gets home before we do, calls me on my cell phone wanting to know when we'll be home. Ggggrrrr. Ok, got food, got gas, got gas cap. Within 10 minutes of arriving home, Mike, me, & Sage are loaded & on the road. Thank goodness Matt & I did all that cleaning on the trailer. So we enjoy an uneventful drive to New Market only to discover that Dennis' land yacht, aka, truck & trailer, are STUCK while trying to climb the hill that we park at every year. You have to understand that this rig is HUGE!! Nearly as long as an 18-wheeler, thus the nickname QE II. Finally got a wrecker to pull him out. In the meantime, our little piece of earth is all set up, generator humming, fridge on, heated mattress pad warming the bed to a toasty temp. Good thing cuz it was colder than a well digger's a....well, you know. Beth brought Slick...a 9-day old gossling...that she rescued from it's egg. Throughout the weekend everybody was making plans & plots on the best way to EAT him. The suggestion was made to rename him Christmas cuz that's when it was decided that he'd be good eating. By 10 pm we were all hunkered down in our trailers. Mike & I started to watch a movie but about 6 minutes into it, Mike was dead to the world. The next morning was lovely. I made breakfast & then they all saddled up & headed out for drill. Mike comes back from drill limping. He has a huge contusion on his thigh...one of our guys' horse slammed into the side of Mike & jammed the hilt of his saber into his leg. So out comes the ice pack & pain reliever. After lunch they head off for the big battle of Saturday. When they come back, Mike's limping even more, Bruiser's leg & lip is bleeding, Chip has a scrape on his back leg, Alain's sliced his finger during a saber charge & RG cut his finger somehow, yet unknown. So out comes my human medical bag as well as the horsie med bag. I get everybody repaired, another ice pack on Mike's leg. A tactical was scheduled for 6 pm so we all decided to hold off dinner till they get back. Nothing worse than riding at a full charge with a belly full...just not a good thing. The evening was spent sitting beneath the stars recounting the events of the day. I don't even go watch the battles anymore cuz I've seen them all so many times. Besides, I don't need too....they all recount so well it's like you were there. This time, when we settled down to watch the movie, he actually stayed awake! Sunday was breakfast then just sorta sit around with an occasional chore of dropping flakes of hay for the ponies. I convinced Mike to ride without his saber today as the swelling on his leg was still large & painful. Of course it started raining just 30 minutes before the battle, while we're all getting the trailers ready to roll out & go home after the battle. Oh, I forgot to mention that Slick died during the night. He overturned his water bowl, got wet & never was able to rewarm. So no goose for Christmas dinner. When they got back from the battle, Sage is bleeding from a nasty gash on his side, probably where Mike accidentally spurred him. But aside from some minor injuries, & the untimely death of Slick, a good weekend was had by all. We got home, ordered Chinese take-ou****ched some TV & then off to bed we went. And that was our weekend. Today is cut the grass day...tomorrow we tackle the dreaded guest room that is a disaster area at the moment.
