How are you doing? Are you maintaining each day?
So far for me I am maintaining at 6,800 steps a day. I am really enjoying this and was wondering how everyone was doing. Will be glad when we can see how far we have gone and how we are all doing.
Jen thank you for reminding us of this and I will try to remember to post once in a while to see how we are doing.
I have been doing great so far. I've been surprised how many steps I do just in a regular day of work! :) Yesterday I did a fitness dvd for about 30min and tonight my husband and I went walking. He did real good with me too - when we came around the last bend, he told me to step it up and see if I could go a little faster. I did pretty good keeping up with him. I did have to drop back after a few minutes, but each day i know I can get better. I can start working on a little more each day and building endurance. We've also started talking about getting a treadmill. Nate says he doesn't want to rush into buying just anything though. I hate to admit, but that dissapointed me. I just wanted to go out and get one right away. So I guess I'll keep hounding him to read some reviews and see what's in our price range. I don't even know what our price range is, I guess it depends on what you get for the money.
Have a great evening!

Hey sweetie I have a treadmill and I can now walk for 30 seconds and jog for 30 seconds and can do it usually about 30 to 40 mintues at a time. I am trying to do this for at least 3 to 4 times a week. This does not include all the walking I do at work and the lifting and pushing of groceries. I try to excersize as much as possible. My husband was the same way it took me a year to convince him that I would use the treadmill and now he sees that I do use it and he is ok with it. I got mine at Kmart so it is just a basic one no fancy stuff. If you have room for it then try it look around and maybe you can find a nice one.
So wow Pat your jogging 30-40 mins a day now? You go girl your doing better than me lol. Keep us posted.

I am trying to do this by using the treadmill and alterning between walking and jogging for up to 30-40 mins a day. I get real tired doing it but I know that it will help me in the long run. I have worked up to doing this. When I start I jog for the first 30 seconds and walk the next 30 seconds and do this for 30 mins and sometimes 40 it gives me a work out that I would not normally get. I am tired of this weight and not being healthy.
The one thing I can say is that 3 months ago my A1C level was 13.8 and now it is 9.9 which is better but not where it is needed to be. They want it to be under 7 so I still have a ways to go. The excersie is helping.
Pat, I am so impressed with your progress on the treadmill and the jogging that you are working on. It has been awesome to see your improvements and get to know you more from when you first started posting on the board! Woo hoo!!

Lauren, you are doing great! I'm so happy that Nate went walking with you yesterday. We got our treadmill at Sears; they have a decent selection and usually have decent prices, so Nate might want to check there in his research. Thanks to you and everyone else's feedback, I'm also looking into getting the Turbo Jam DVD - you have inspired me!

Yeah, I was happy about it too. Although, my speed isn't much of a workout for him it was nice to spend time with him. It is something we've always said we would do, but never did. We will definatley check out Sears.
