BUTTER OR .....

I am curious .

What type of Butter or Butter Spread do you use.

I know this is going to sound crazy. But after reading about the ingredients in the Low Fat - Butters, I have been using real butter. I checked with my NP and she says that it may be a little high in fat, but if I am only using a small amount, I should be fine.  I rarely use butter, but when I do I want it to be good for me . While real butter is pretty natural , I am still leary of the fat content.

so ... what do you use ?

Good pm Natalie, I personally am not much of a condiment eater. If I use butter its usually use Mrs. Filbert's (7 grams fat tablespoon) or I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (8 grams fat per tablespoon) or Parkay Light. NONE of them is very appetizing to but for the VERY little amount I use it's enough to make what I'm eating a bit wetter. In any event, as with anything I honestly believe in moderation is the way to go. If you are NOT using it often the real butter vs vegetable oil spreads etc I think its a taste preference. Again, I just am not a fan of using condiments so I'm not the best gal to answer this one. Hope this helps!

I use Shedds Spread Country Crock Churn Style.  It's a vegetable oil margarine with 7g fat per Tbsp.  For me it's what I grew up with and all that I've ever tried.  My dad likes to keep real butter at his house now, but it tastes so different to me that I usually pass.  I did try some kind of yogurt butter spread that was creamy and sweet that was nice once, but that was pre-op and have no idea if it would be a good choice now.

I use to use butter, because it is more natural than the other stuff on the market.  But like you became concerned with the fat content.  I recently changed over to I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, Light.  It's high in omega-3, has less fat and calories and tastes the same.

I don't use much of either because I can't eat breads. I try for olive oil for cookiing but when I do it's either real butter or I cant believe its not butter light.
