Mothering Ourselves and Others
I've been thinking about this for a few days now. Yes, it's Mother's Day and we will honor the mothers in our lives with love and memories. Even though "Mother" is a role, it's also come to be associated with "nurturing" and "caretaking" of others. Even if someone isn't a mother, they can be very good at "mothering". And we all are good examples of how we administer "mothering" to each other.
I want to thank all of you for the "mothering" that you have given to me. And I look forward to my own version of "mothering" that I can offer everyone else as well. So while we are honoring our own mothers today and hopefully being honored ourselves if we have children... let's take a minute and smile at the thought of how good we are at taking care of each other on this board. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be here with all of you!
