So What are you Wearing To Richmond?

Ok, I've been searching high and low for something from the 70's or at least looks like it's from the disco era for awhile. I origianlly bought a wrap dress but it's now way too big on me (you can groan now...lol). So I bought these formal dresses this week at rock bottom prices and I'm thinking of wearing one of them instead. I have three, two of them are black (all long dresses too), do think it's ok for me to wear one of these instead of something actually from the 70's. I hate that era for clothes. My mom used to dress me in plaid bellbottoms and pink ponchos and I cringe everytime I see those photos. Yuck! So what are you wearing? Jane

Just FYI, Im posting this topic to help keep people's minds off all the tragic things that have been happening to our fellow Virginians here. We seem t be going through a rough patch right now with Cheryl, Tink, Kathy and now Pam's tragic loss of her friend. I love you gals!

Thanks, sweet Jane! I'm hanging tough. Hopefully I'll know my next surgery date soon. I'm on the "first available" list. Gentle hugs, Kathy

Fri night--black stretch velvet longsleeved, turtle neck, really odd length. I wi**** were shorter. It will do though, I may go hunting for a flashy belt for it. Sat. night--red wrap polyester w/various sized black polka dots all over, long-sleeved. Nice weight and length. Swings when you move. First wrap dress I have ever worn. It is a dress I can dance in if I want. It is not formal or even semi-formal, just flouncy and fun. I have a hiking date for this Sat. If we hit it off I will wish he could come along for the dance.--Not that I know if he even dances. He DOES kayak, canoe, hike, SAR and he and I have talked about geocaching . Happily anticipating tomorrow night's call, Lois

I'm going to be the one that STANDS OUT IN THE CROWD the most, on 70's night. I'll be wearing jeans and a comfy shirt (both from THIS era). Friday night... I dunno, comfy is the word of the weekend for me, so black dress slacks and a heavily saturated sparkly kinda top. Tada! As far as the formal dresses you bought and wearing them both nights? Hell, woman, wear it during the day at the SEMINARS if you want. It's all about YOU and what makes you feel comfortable. I've got a couple of formals (Navy Balls) and had even tossed around the idea of wearing my black/beaded/peekaboo number ...still might. Ive got 2 weeks to let my 'comfy moods' change. Did you get ahold of the Hotel or Becker about moving your room near ours?

I didn't get a chance to contact David yet. Mom had chemo yesterday and we were there for 7 hours. She's really sick from it. She's really having a tough time. I hope she's ok by the weekend of the conference. I may need to send Dylan to my cousin's house for that weekend andhave my aunt stay with her. I'm gonna try getting in touch with him today. If we could at least be on the same floor and area that would be great. I got an executive King, but I could change to to two doubles if need be. As for the dresses. I actually bought them for my cruise and with being dirt cheap at the time, one or two uses out of them would be nice. I'd really like to goasa "rollergirl" but I haven't been on roller skates in so long I'd probally break my neck. Comfy sounds good for friday though. Got to be comfy to party (lol). I'll be leaving here around 3 pm for the trip up there. Traffic is a monster on Fridays going to Richmond. With only two lanes it's usually wall to wall cars. So give yourself plenty of time.
