Hello friends ~ Just a quickie here. I mentioned in an earlier post to Jane M. that I'd be heading to the DMV this morning, had to replace my drivers license, courtesy of stolen purse on Monday. The upside to this pain in my backside? I was finally going to go in and state a real weight to match the real face!! For 25+ years I cringed when it was DL time. Hated that blasted WEIGHT question and for 25+ years, I lied about my weight. Always told them I weighed 175 lbs, always, lol, even when I weighed 400+ lbs. Amazingly enough, they never blinked an eye. They always had that glazed over look, which worked in my favor. Now for the irony part...... I go in today with some confidence never felt before at the DMV. Walk up to the window, hand her my application, and I not only showed the real weight, I'd marked it kinda DARK. Then I go to get my photo taken, picture ain't half bad - walk out to the car to really scrutinize the DL and guess what? THEY DON'T LIST THE WEIGHT anymore!! Um, whatevah'! Hope everyone has a great weekend ~ Lei

LOL! They haven't listed it directly on the license in a few years. But they still ask for it on the application. So at least "internally" you know you are being honest, eh? Kathy

Hi Lei, that is too funny. I didn't realize that. When I went for my military id a couple of years ago (pre wls) the young lady typing it up said, and for this I will forever love her (especially since Greg was right there and we NEVER discussed what I weighed), she said 'what would you like me to put down for your weight'. I looked at her and said you mean I can just tell you anything, and she said yeah, pretty much. So (I was nearing 300 at the time) I gulped and said 175 and she said, okay done. Ha ha -- now of course that I am under that I need to go back and change it!!! Who would have thought!! Have a good weekend cutie, and what a sweet sweet note from Paul. What a guy!! love donna

- oh my gawd, I just love you to pieces... er, yah, even if you threatened me. Girl?? I couldn't weigh 150-nothing, to save myself. Give me a break. My lowest EVER was 159, but I swear to god, I only saw it ONCE (digital scales) got on/off/on/off several times, that same MOMENT in time and never saw the number again. Instead it re-registered at 162. Wow, talk about elation to depression in two seconds flat. Anyway - when my body finally mellowed out, it settled in comfortably at 165 and that's the number I struggle to stay near (and fail and succeed, on going)! Oh well - we knew it wasnt going to be easy, right? ...it SUCKS BEING RIGHT about somethings in life. This maintenance stage is a never-ending-battle, but we're tough ... bring it on! Thanks for the laugh, brat! Lei

Hi Lei ~~ TOOO DAGGONE FUNNY! The pic on my Driver License is soooo old that it is actually a skinny picture. Had it done after one of the many diets I went on. I have been questioned about my Military ID on occasion at the Commissary, getting onto the base etc. also at the Naval Hospital. When I got it I weighed 450 pounds---I lied and told them 350. The gal did not bat an eye and wrote it down. Anyhooo--I called the ID office and told them I thought I needed a new military ID because I have problems with the one I have. They asked why--told them I had lost 313 lbs. and was told the weight loss is NOT an acceptable reason to be reissued a new card!!! Can ya believe that one?? Hells bells...I plan to march my butt to the office and try it in person--if I get any flack I will ask for the CMC or whoever the heck runs the joint. GEEEZ! I thought the purpose of the ID was to identify us-----all mine does is cause me problems. Take care girlei!!

That is so funny Lei! I was just thinking about my license a couple months ago and was going to go in and tell them that I lost weight and needed a new picture...then I realized that I matched the weight on my license so now I would have to wait until I got completely to my goal so that I could say I lost weight, write the true weight and have it actually be lower than what I had initially written! Tooo funny! Christine

Toooooo funny Lei!! I have done the same thing and I have been allowed to use the same picture which is of me at 160 with short hair. Everyone always does a double take and I just say yeah its a marriage, baby and 100lbs later. Once I gained the weight I did put 175 While I have been going through all these test for the surgery they always say "I hate to ask this but I need your weight" To which I reply "oh hey no prob, that's why I'm here: Anna
