Keep the Prayers coming for Cheryl

I just talked to Cheryl and she now has internal bleeding coming from the large intestine (they think). They believe that when her appendix was taken out something wasn't closed up right. They will be doing a blood transfusion this morning. I will be calling her bariatric surgeon to see if I can get them to go over there and check on her and make sure that this is completely unrelated to her bypass. Anyway, keep Cheryl in your thoughts and prayers. She is in a lot of pain right now and is very scared. For those of you who want to check on her, she is in Chesapeake General Room 6620. Christine

Poor Cheryl. I'm glad your calling her surgeon. That was a good call in my book. I hope they can find the source of her bleeding. I keep her in my prayers.

Christine, thanks for the update. I'll keep Cheryl in my prayers. Let me know if you think she's up to visitors, of if I should wait. Are they planning to open her back up and repair what wasn't done properly?? Thanks Wendy

I'm planning to go up after work. She really sounds terrible on the phone but I know she is also scared to death. They are doing lots of different stuff and she is kinda on and off so I will be calling her before I head up just to be sure.

Hello girlfriend, Wendy got ahold of me and told me about Cheryl, came running over to the VaBoard to get any updates. Holy crap, can't believe they ended up doing emergency surgery and then to find out that it created a SECOND problem on top of it? I'm with WendyWooooooo on this one, are they planning on taking her back in and reopening her, fixing the nick/problem? I have to believe the only correct answer here is YES, sure hope so, although Im sure she'd rather avoid any more slicing and dicing, better to be SAFE! Please pass my prayers and hugs to Cheryl Lei

Hey Lei, She said that she didn't think they were going to open her back up and that they are doing the transfusion first to see if that fixes it. She is very drugged so I am hoping that she is just mixed up. Anyway, I called her bariatric surgeon and he does not have rights at Chesapeake General so there is nothing that he can do! They said that if I felt like ******g off the existing surgeon that I could give them her bariatric surgeon's name and/or ask for a bariatric surgeon (whomever is on staff). Anyway, still rethinking the whole ******g off the surgeon thing...I'll keep ya'll updated. Christine

Christine, any news yet? I've been thinking of Cheryl all day. If my mom didn't have Chemo "flu", I'd come over there. Please let us know as soon as you find out anything.
