Sweats after eating?

I had my surgery Oct. 18, and ever since starting on solids (at 4 weeks), I break out in a sweat after I finish eating. Anybody else ever experience this? I am not light headed nor do I feel sick, just hot and sweaty. My sugar is not low either. Anybody know what could be going on? I've thought I might be eating too fast or too much, but it doesn't seem like it to me when I am eating.

For me, this sometimes is a sign of dumping..... although I often don't know the cause. Ate too fast? Ate the wrong thing? Drank too close to eating? Dumping for me, comes in a variety of forms - sometimes things are happening altogether, sometimes I'll get a single Sx like being hot and sweaty. It's just one of the fun parts of the journey! At least you're not alone! Crystal

It happens to me if I eat something or stuff that has too much fat or unexpected sugar content. The fat grams will sneak up on you if you're no****chng or fudging a bit.

This may not be anything related to dumping at all. My dad never had surgery and always sweated after eating and sometimes while he was eating. It didn't matter what he ingested. His doc told him it was a metabolism issue. But this also may be from eating high sugar (even natuaral fruit sugars) and possibly high fats. If tht's the case, then it's dumping, a mild form of t though. Keepp a careful track of your sugar and fat and what you eat and the reactions you get. It will help weed out the culprite. If it still happens, you might want to talk to your pcp and maybe see an endocrinologist.

Don't forget you can emails the nuts, or Nancy Baugh or Jill and ask. I found Nancy especially helpful. Lois

I have experienced this also--usually shortly after eating something with too much sugar---in some cases it also brings rapid heartbeat as well as dizziness. This has only happened on a few occaisions and is NOT fun. I also have something odd happen sometimes when I eat some things made with white flour-----I start sneezing like crazy! Lasts about 15 minutes and then disappears. It took me a while to figure out my body's reactions to many different types of foods----and I still find new things happening after 3 years. It's truly a life journey! But...ain't it grand????
