Hi Jacqueline - I told you that you were in good hands lol! Congratulations on getting a date and it will be here before you know it! Take Donna's advice and read as much as you can because then you will not have as many surprises afterwards. You should also start taking protein - it will help with your healing - and start buying all your supplements etc because you will not feel like shopping just after you get out.... and practise not drinking with meals so that it becomes a habit - it is a hard one to break and it usually takes 3 weeks to establish a habit.... that way it will be much easier after surgery... Good luck! Jackie

Thanks, Jackie and everyone for the support. I go back January 5th for the pre-op stuff. So I will take all suggestions seriously. What protein stuff should I buy and where do you all buy it? I'd like to get it all before and taste it so I know I like it or tolerate it before surgery.

Well it can be difficult to get a protein you like -or me it is anyway. Whyey proteins are generally best for us. I buy a lot of Profect or IDS whey vials - on line - but they are expensive. There are many places that sell them but you need to check out several manufacturers as they vary dramatically in price.... just search on "Whey protein by IDS" and many places will come up. I buy them from different places every time because they keep changing their prices. I hate most other proteins. However many people go to GNC and but their protein there - especially the chocolate ones. Now GNC have a policy that you can return the protein if you try them and don't like them.... also if you go to www.vitalady.com she sells samples for $1.99 each so you can try as many as you like to see what you like. Finally a word of caution, your tastes change after surgery so I would not advise you to buy very mu*****ase you find that after surgery you can't stand them and then you are left with them... Chocolate proteins are a favorite because they seem to mask the protein taste better.... I am sure there are others with different places they buy there proteins from and they would be happy to help you too... Jackie

Thanks, I am setting up an account with Vitalady and will order the samples. Thanks so much! I mentioned your name when I emailed them so maybe they will give you a referral discount. I dont' know if they offer that but they should! Have a Happy New Year! I have to use 2 McCormick and Schmick restaurant gift cards Hubbie and I got for a wedding gift last May, so our last "meal" will be seafood tomorrow night for New Years Eve. I will be starting to diet before surgery so that's why it's a "last meal" but I am so ready for this surgery I can barely wait. Since we get Tuesday off, I am clearing out the pantry of all bad stuff and will filling it with stuff I should start eating. I went shopping, just to look at clothes and thought gee, next year I WILL fit into regular sizes. That would be so incredible for me. I don't need to be a size zero, just a 12 would make me happy. Anything below a 12 is icing on a cake for me. Who knows maybe I'll discover I can be smaller but it seems like asking to much of fate. Of course, breathing better at night would also be a blessing too. Ok, thanks everyone and thanks Jackie again for the referral. Jacquie
