OT-EBAY

Help !!! I have been trying to purchase on Ebay some stuff for my wedding . I thought I signed up for PayPal .. and I go to my checking account and it has been debited 6 times . 5 times by Ebay and 1 time from Pay Pal . The live chat person says this is how they determine if the acount is legit .. I have written and written them and no one will respond to me . Has anyone ever had this happen to them .. Help Natalie

You need to call ebay and Paypal Ive dealt w/ them for over 6 years never have I had that happen. Get there number off there sight and call them right away.

Natalie, Did you get an email from Ebay or Paypal, saying they wanted to verify your account information? If so, did you follow a link and enter your numbers? That is the way theives get ahold of your account numbers. I used to get those phishing emails all the time. If that happened to you, you will have to contact ebay and paypal directly from their website. You'll need to do that either way actually. I have bought numerous things from there and never had them debit my account to verify it. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have been ebaying for years, but will have nothing to do with paypal. When they started the requirement to have immediate access to my checking account I said "No WAY!". I pay by money order, and if the seller is paypal only, I don't deal with them. Hope you get it squared away! Lois

Natalie - Sorry, I'm not E-bay savvy.... but it sounds like someone might have got a hold of your account #..... scary stuff!!! BTW, is that pic of you and Alan in front of the LDS temple in D.C.??? We went there too - isn't it beautiful! We actually go to the church that the temple belongs to - and have the privilege of attending the temple when we can get to D.C.!!! Natalie, Sorry you are having such a problem but it does sound like someone scammed you. I have a pay pal account and have never had any problems. I nevere gave them my bank account info, only my credit card. I also agree that you never follow a link in an email that claims to want to verify your information. You always get out of the email and go directly to paypal.com and login. CathyA

when I first opened my paypal account - years and years ago - they did debit it by different $1ish amounts a few times - I think it was three - and then they opened it - so I think it is legit as long as the amounts are small....... Jackie
