Today is THE day!
Ok, so I leave in about an hour to head to the hospital to have my lap-band surgery and soon I will be a BIG loser!
I was nervous most of the week, and the all liquid/low carb diet this week was so much fun (NOT) so I thought I would be a complete wreck today, but ironically I got a great night sleep and I am ready to go. Slight jitters, but mostly just ready to get on with this and the rest of my life.
It was a crazy week: Christmas tree and house decorated, check. Two weeks of grocery shopping, check. Kids/husband's laundry done, check. House cleaned for potential visitors, check. Stocked up on liquids, protein, vitamins, heating pad, extra pj's and sweats, check, check and double check!
Now I'm just killing time waiting for my ride! I should be home tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully I'll feel up to sending a quick update message.
Thanks so much for all the kind words and helpful tips. I truely enjoy reading the new messages every day.

Christina,
I hope everything went well for you today! I am RNY 1 month out yesterday and live in
Warrenton. If you need a local support group, there is one that meets in Warrenton at Panera, the last Thursday of the month at 7:00. There is a meeting this month in spite of the holidays. I think there are some lapbanders that attend. I know that I need my support groups just like an alcholic needs AA. To be successful it's so important to have great support behind you. I can give you details if you are interested. They are a really great bunch of ladies and I learned so much when I went last time!! Also there is the Staple club which is run by my surgeon's office (Anez) that will be meeting in Reston next month. They don't mind other surgeons patients, another great group.
