Citracal Chews on Sale at Walgreen's

For those of you who use it, or for those of you who haven't tried it, The Citracal Chews are on sale for half off this week at Walgreen's. The Walgreen's near my house had both the Chocolate and the Lemon. There were about 5-6 boxes of each. Its normally about $9 a box, on sale its $4.50. I think its 40 chews in each box. If you haven't tried it, you should! They taste SO GOOD. The lemon ones really taste like a lemon square cookie. They are 35 calories and I think 5 grams of sugar. Each square has 500mg of Calcium. The only problem I can see with these is having your child / husband get into them and eat half the box because they taste so good. The wonderful thing for someone like me who travels all the time like myself is they come in a cardboard box, and each dose is individually wrapped. Back when I first had the surgery I was carrying around liquid calcium in a glass bottle through the airports. Well of course, every airport stoppd me because the calcium looked like a liquid explosive on the screen. Then I found these Calcium Citrate Chewable tabs by Twin Labs. However, they come in a glass bottle as well, so I was always afraid the glass would break in my suitcase. The Citracal Chewables are great since they are individually wrapped, I just pop a couple in my purse and in my breifcase, so I always have them with me! If there is a Walgreen's near you, go get a box and try them out! You will LOVE them! And they are on sale, half off! So all of you who already use them, stock up! Leland

are they calcuim citrate because I got the walgreens brand of the vitachews and they werent calcuim citrate so we dont absorb them. I didnt see the Citracel chews because I am taking the Blue Bonnet liquid calcuim and I cant stand it...How long are they on sale for?

Oh Yes, Sorry they are Calcium Citrate. It even reads on the box, something like Calcium Citrate the highest form of absorbable Calcium. Does not cause gas like Calcium Carbonate. (Most of us dont need anything else to cause gas). Its made by the same company who makes those Citracal HUGE pills. Some dieticians reccomend you get the pills and crush them. I believe they are on sale just until Saturday, I new sale should start on Sunday.

Thanks for the notice; I'll have to pick some up. I haven't tried the lemon ones yet, but the chocolate ones are great. Right now I am taking one of the Citracal Chewables in the morning and then Citracal pills the rest of the day to cut back on calories, but it is nice to get a little chocolate fix Julie

Don't you love it when something like this taste so good so swear you are cheating, but yet, you aren't? I Love it! Now I just have to make sure that my nephew doesn't get into these. He liked the other chewables I had. He called them "Lele's Candy".
