Hey Beautiful ! Congrats on the surgery ... Mine was canceld due to low labs .. all steming from my surgery . So we rescheduled for March .. this will give me more time to get my protein back up ...
I say this.. Start chugging down the protein shakes if you can stand them .. I do 3 a day now and was able to get my numbers from 4 up to 6 .. not to bad for a weeks worth of gorging on Nectar .
I have each surgery scheduled with in 3 months of each other .. so I gotta be on my toes ...
I am curious .. what CC did you decide to go with . I am getting the 400 softies .. with a cone shape .. I think those look wonderful on me .
I am so happy for you .. and yes ... TEAR UP THE DAMN 666 AND PAY BY CHECK CARD !
Best wishes to you ,
Natalie
I've never been the type to fall for superstition type things - although I'll be the first to joke about 'em (ie, the black cat, walk under a ladder, etc) ....but, the thing that grabbed me on your post (lol, NOT that you asked) ...was NOT the check number 666 leaving you with apprehension, it's the LOW LAB RESULTS!!!!!
You mentioned in your post that you had NOT picked up the reports yet, I assume since Im late in reading and responding that you have by now?
What does your SURGEON say about the abnormal values? Personally, Id be SHOCKED that he'd still recommend surgery until ALL of those levels were back up in a healthy normal range. The biggest problem with us Gastric Bypass peeps is that it takes us twice as long/hard (if not more) to raise our levels. Which is why Im always PREACHING (and yes, Ive been chastised for my preaching mentality before) to anyone that's had this surgery - start WORRYING when you're on the "low side of normal" ...once you hit LOW, it's an uphill battle to get them back up. Some levels are much more difficult to raise, ie, iron.
Anyway - not wanting to preach here, but I wouldnt feel that I was a friend if I didn't at least VOICE my concerns. Most doctors worth their weight in gold would never consider operating on a patient with abnormal levels, regardless of what they are. I know you have a LOT of faith in your doctor and bottomline, you're going to do what you feel is best, just wanted to voice my concerns.
Good luck to you - nothing but positive vibes and thoughts coming your way - lol, hope you enjoy protien shakes? Methinks you need to be doing 4 to 6 a day in prep. Yah yah, I know, not that you asked!

Hey Lei...
I just now had her office fax them over to my PS's office...and I am going to pick them up personally tomorrow. I should go to Oceana to get them, but to get a hard copy of your records anymore is like pulling teeth. I am going by my PCP's office tomorrow to get a copy and see what I need to tweak. My K was low by 0.2.. and she said my protein was a little low..but not sure by how much. My 6 month labs were fine. She said nothing should stop me from surgery..but the PS may say differently. We will see. Thanks for your concern !! Cross your fingers for me.
