SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW
Hello can someone tell me what happen to this girl JUDY BOONE. am getting read to have my surgury this monday. and a friend of mine keeps on telling me I need to see what happy to Judy boone because of the surgury..And help will help me. Am already secard to death now..Please Pray for me too. thanks Maria
Judy Boone had the surgery 18-20 years ago, obviously not the same surgery as they are doing now. Her health has been seriously compromised, the newspaper article said as a result of the surgery, but it didn't give any details except that she went into a coma recently and they didn't expect her to survive. Luckily she is a fighter and she woke up and is home recovering. I think it also said it was her liver that was affected. Ask your surgeon, since she is a semi-famous local, he might know a little more information.
Maria, to add to what Carole has said. Judy had a doctor who Made her intestinal track too short. Dangereously short. They don't do that anymore even in Distal Surgeries. They know better now. Surgery has evolved quite a bit since 18-20 years ago. I feel that I have the best of both worlds. I am what is considered a high proximal/Medial Bypass and have a silastic ring on my pouch to prevent the stoma from stretching. I'm also transected (two seperate stomachs, instead of just a line of staples. ).
The only thin that I have ever had a problem with is an ulcer, which is now cleared up. Oh, I can't drink milk. But other than that, no problems. No vomiting (I actually have to physically force myself to do that, when I get something stuck), no diarreah, no vitamin problems. I'm not even on any meds except Zyrtec for my allergies. I went form 14 pills a day to one.
Maria, I hope you do well on your surgery and when you feel up to it, lets us know how your doing. Don't let people scare you with the "I had a friend, who had a cousin who had a mother who died." I can't tell you how many people tried to talk me out of doing it. Bu I did my reasearch and I knew much more than they ever could.
Actually, her surgery was 28 years ago.
Here is an article. Mind you the article is NOT focused on WLS but on her business.
