Biopsy results are in...
and it was positive. I have breast cancer of sorts. (Deep breath here.)
As of right now, I have the better of the forms of breast cancer which is Ductal Carcinoma In Situ. Basically, it is abnormal breast ducts cells. Almost more precancerous than cancerous.
The reason I say "as of right now" is that there is another area that they didn't biopsy Friday and want to upon further review of my films. That biopsy is now scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:30. Will probably know the results of that on Wednesday or so.
Not sure of the surgery options available to me and such until this next biopsy is done and until an MRI of both breasts is done looking for anything else lurking around. I'm supposed to see the breast surgeon on Thursday morning.
My sister had ILC (invasive lobular carcinoma) which is different.
Anyway, I'm doing well as can be expected. I'll keep ya posted.
Be good,
Kathy
Hey Honey,
I have been out of town...and out of the loop for a while....just got back...and read this. Wow...you really are a walking medical encyclopedia girl! Seriously...I am sorry you are having to go through this...yet another learning experience. But...what I have learned about you over the past couple of years is that you are a strong woman...and arm yourself with knowledge every time something like this happens. That not only makes you powerful against anything that you have faced...but you have used the knowledge to help others around you. I am so proud of you for doing this...and coming so far. I will be praying for you...let me know what is going on.
Much love,
Stephanie
Kathy,
my heart goes out to you, and I am going to say a prayer for you... I wish you didnt have to go through any of this... life isnt always fair and i hope it can all be removed... i will pray for you.. and since you found it early it will most likely turn out okay and can be removed.
if you need anything at all.... we are here for you as you know this already...
thinking of you..Beth
Hey Kathy,
Dang, I reckon in comparison to the results your sister received, your cancer is better, but still must weigh heavy on your heart. I'm so sorry the results weren't picture perfect, but happy that you were proactive with your body, and got the results in early. This can only be a benefit, as I'm sure you're aware.
Best of luck with the next round of testing. I'll be thinking of you, and waiting to hear the results.
Wendy
