I have a "New Addition"
Well, as the VA Beach gals know, I was unable to attend the gathering yesterday because I was in New Jersey. Why was I in New Jersey? Cause I was picking up my new bundle of joy!
Her name is Roxy (yep....like the fox logo in the clothing line) and is an 11 week old female Shiba Inu. What's a Shiba Inu you ask? A small Japanese dog that looks like a mini Akita. They are really smart (almost TOO smart) and have have a big attitude. They are Japan's most favored dog. They are VERY easy to potty train (mainly because they are very clean. She constantly grooms herself). They are protective. But...you HAVE to train them, or they will run all over you. So...she starts training at the end of the month.
Anyways...hubby and I had been looking and we found one in New Jersey and decided to take a ride. I know*I know...crazy, huh!
I just cannot believe it.
I've added her pictures to my profile.
I really wanted to go, too. But I am SO glad that we made the trip instead. With my boys being older and my dog getting old (she's 12 1/2) I have the thought of "What will I do when Patrick moves out in 1 1/2 years if the dog dies while John is deployed. I have ALWAYS had kids around me.
So, John said that he wanted a puppy, and I kept saying no until he showed me the kind he wanted. I fell in love.
Roxy will be a handful, but once trained will be a great companion. We just have to get through how they see the world. Everything is theirs and sharing is something that others are suppose to do (haha)!
But....glad to hear that you guys had a great time! Hope you danced for me!

Hi Lynn.....
Both! Sentara Careplex does a support group with Dr. Clark's patients. It's on the 1st Wed of each month. There are several others as well, but I do not have any info on them. Some of the ladies here can give you info on them.
Plus, occasionally we get together as a group...dinner....dancing...chatting.
Welcome back to the area and thanks!

Lois.....How the heck are you? How ya feeling?
Thanks! I swear sometimes I get depressed at the though of coming home to an empty house, which is coming very quickly.
John leaves for school in March and my youngest son, Patrick works after school. Which means that on the nights he is at work it will be just the dogs and I. Shelby (my older dog) is a lump (hehe). But, Roxy will keep me busy with training and stuff.
Take Care!
