HI all! I saw the doc today and she confirmed my thyroid is in fact out of whack. So I start my synthroid this evening. I was just wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with thyroid probs post op and how did it work out for ya? I'm hoping for my slow losing to pick up speed by a tiny bit at least! Kirsten

Kirsten, I sure hope the synthyroid helps. I haven't had the problems, but have heard another friend mention it. Her recovery from the surgery was good, but her weightloss was slow, but steady. Good luck! Sue Baker

Kirsten... Thanks for the compliments on myspace.. About your thyroid..Didn't they have you on a low dosage? What are your levels? Send me an email with your lab results. I am the thyroid queen !! Heck yeah that is the reason why you aren't losing as fast. You have no metabolism. My levels are a little too low right now but I hate having the dosage adjusted. My weight has been stalling out and tonight I was up 4 lbs !! You look so good in your pictures. When we start to feel in a slump, comparing ourselves to others that have lost twice as much as we have by this point,we need to think back about where we were this time last year. I guess this surgery is what I will be "thankful" for this year..as I am having withdrawals from going desertless after the dinner !!..lol Hugs, (Take your synthroid in the am with nothing else for one hour) Dana

I was told I have a mild case of Hyperthyroidism. It's been off for about 10 years. I have never been treated for it because it was barely off. I recently took another test and it was within normal range. So that 's good. You'll be fine. My sister has the graves disease and has been on medicine for 19 years. As long as she takes her med, she is fine.
