im glad you figured out what it was...the same thing happen to me it hurt soo bad but when i had my gallbladder attack I was 7 months pregnant so it was scary....a month after she was born i had it removed.....that was 5 yrs ago....you need to ask what will happen without a gallbladder i didnt and soon realized any fatty foods i eat run right through me.... guess it has to do without having a gallbladder...lol but not complaining its better now.....when is your surgery?

HI, i am having surgey on monday but i just got an attack and oh my fu.. it hurts. i don' t know what i am supposed to do until monday with the pain. when i went into the hospital the other night it lasted for hours. i don't know how i am going to deal with hours of this all weekend long.
one of the docs was being smart in the er and asked me what i was eating fatty. i don't eat fatty foods unless it's milk cheese stuff like that. if i was eating nothing but fatty food i would not have the weight loss that i have had in the short amount of time. i don't know why thi**** me like this. i don't buy anything with high sugar, carbs or high fat. i avoid it all. that is why i have had such success with the weight loss. limits what food i can eat because everything has something in it but i am frustrated. you know i was the 1% when i took fertility drugs with my son that it would cause a deformity and of course he had one. so i am the low percent to have this happen even with taking that med to avoid this. so it's just me. i can handle this all but the pain. good lord......its scary
thanks

Liz - Having gallbladder problems after WLS is very common. I have not had my surgery yet, but they are taking my gallbladder out when I have it in January. I have had stones for years - and trust me - I know what you mean by PAIN!! I have endured that pain for days because I am so scared of surgery! But just so you know - Your gallbladder needs a certain amount of fat in your diet to function normally - since you had your WLS you probably don't get enough fat - not to much. The doctor that asked you that just assumed he knew what he was talking about. Every time I would go on a low fat diet I would have an attack. So don't think you have done anything wrong - You havent!

Yea I have not had my surgery yet I have it this wedesday if it were me again I remember those pains its not fun at all... I would probably go back on the fluid diet very easy on the system so you dont upset your gallbadder... did they give you something for a attacK? since you just had one? I couldnt get rid of them without help from the doctors. But I am glad your getting it out monday... laproscopic right?
well I wish you a peacful weekend and you will feel so much better after monday.
thinking of you...Beth
Hi Liz,
Who is doing your gb surgery? Are you going to be at MCV?
I just found out that Dr. Hutcher will remove my GB when he does the open bypass. Since I have already had my appendix removed & full hysterectomy, after I have bypass and GB removed, I plan to never be opened up again!... Well, except for the tummy tuck I am dreaming about one day!
Good luck and prayers coming your way!
Kim
