As I read the posts of those who are waiting for surgery, who want it so badly and many who have waited and waited and some never do seem to get approved, I'm reminded of how lucky I was to be approved, had the surgery and consider myself to be a success. With all the insurance companies and employers tightening their belts, they're always looking for something NOT to cover. WLS is their pet scapegoat now and it's getting more and more difficult to be approved. I pray every day that this turns around in the other direction. Not to be telling my age ( Ha! ), but I can remember when Blue Cross thought that kidney and heart transplants were experimental and wouldn't pay for them. I remind myself of that and know that there is hope for routine coverage of WLS. Nat, I know that all the folks you inspire are so pleased you take the time and have the time to devote to the coaching them on and off this website. I'm especially impressed with your dedication knowing what you are going through personally just now.
