Get more C .. about 500 more mgs... and start on some soups ... Like Chicken Noodle .. I swear it works .. also ... try not to supress the head cold .. let it drain out .. when you start taking meds to dry it up .. it does not run it's course ... drink lots of fluids ... eat as well as you can .. if you think it warrants some antibiotics .. get to your doc .. but you may just be a little head cold ..or the weather .. NO WORRIES YOU WILL MAKE IT .. Many hugs, Natalie

I suggest zinc lozenges immediately. I have taken these many times as soon as I start to feel like I am getting a cold, and the cold never really comes on. I just constantly pop one in my mouth one right after the other for a day or two. Then the cold just kind of fades away. Good luck! Hugs, Robin

I just had my surgery on October 19 and had a TERRIBLE cold the week before...luckily it ran it's course and was better by my surgery date. Although some remnants of the cold remained...they went ahead with the surgery and I had no problems. Just check with your surgeons office and see what they recommend. I got lots of sleep the weekend before and that seems to help a lot. Good Luck!!

I had a cold and huge cold sore just before surgery but unless it hampers your ability to breathe or goes into your chest they will still go ahead with surgery. Just do all the normal things you would do with a cold and that should be good and check in with your doctor's office in case they can suggest anything..... Jackie

I swear by Zicam - taken earlier, the better. It reallly reduces the severity and length of the cold. I've been doing it for years. Best of luck and feel better!

Ditto on the zinc (like cold-eeze)...... and I have learned that if you have a cold going into surgery, the surgery shocks it right out of your body! LOL! You'll come home with no worries about the cold!
