Winchester Virginia ?????

Hello, I am trying to find someone in the Winchester Virginia area. I am scheduled to attend an orientation @ Winchester medical center soon and I was wandering if anyone outhere has had their surgery there, and if you could tell me about your personal experience as well. Hey Miss Sunshine....guess where I am sitting right this moment? Winchester, VA!!! I am at Jill and Jon's house sitting and watching TJ while they are on the cruise. I bet when she comes back, she will be able to help you with all the information you need. It is beautiful up here. Have a superday....we leave here on Friday or Saturday and then on Sunday we leave for Myrtle Beach for anotherweek. Been 4 wheeling and having a ball with TJ. hugs a bunch./. Betsy

Hi Kitty. Your name is very similar to someone else on the board so you might get some responses that you don't understand. I had my surgery at Fair Oaks but I know a little bit about the Winchester program. Winchester medical has just recently revamped their obesity surgery areas. They are trying to get everthing up and running with support group and such. I don't know anything about your doctor. You might try also checking the Bariatric Surgeons & Hospitals section on this forum to see if you can find any info. Best wishes to you on your journey. Courtney

Hey kitty kat, my first choice was winchester, va but when I called they were no longer doing gastric bypass surgeries there anymore.... I dont know the reason behind it but I would research it a little more before making your choice to go there.... I decided to go to dr schirmer at uva because I always heard great things about him and he is an awesome surgeon....I know its further than winchester... So I wish you luck on who you go to... I was very pleased with everything and had no complications from having the surgery with dr schirmer and I am 16 months out.... Hugs renea 16 months post op 312/195/180 preop/current/my goal
