Sippy cups
Hi there,
I'm not sure if that's a good idea . I'd stay away from sodas, straws, and sippy cups because it can put air in your stomach. That can cause everything from gas to stretching your stomach. I'd pratice carrying just a regular bottle of water with you everywhere you go and force yourself to drink throught the day. Also, do you like ice chips? After my surgery I couldn't get enough of them . Good luck and take care.
I used both immediately after post-op. The cup went by the wayside pretty quick though. Didn't keep me from filling up my mouth and taking a big gulp...always a way to beat the system. BUT, I did use the spoon and fork for a few weeks...what a help that was. I still have them in my drawer to remind me...but I rarely use them anymore.
Hope that helps!

I tried to use a sippy cup but my son was only 2 then and thought I was stealing his - I somehow could not get used to the idea of drinking from a sippy cup so I decided not to use them. I also never used the small forks or spoons - same issue - my son thought I was using his - so I just very carefully took smaller bites and sips........ and i survived lol!

I did use a sippy cup- however, I used one that did not have a spill-proof type lid. Those cause you to sip as if using a straw. The ones I bought were rather cheap, small plastic cups (4 oz ones I think) and a simple plastic lid with a spout that restricted how much came out but was not spillproof. Wish I could remember who made them. I had purchased them for my toddler and he thought it was funny that we used the same cups.
I used mine to drink my protein shake (adding two ice cubes to make it really cold).
