I just wanted to pop in and say hi, while I have a moment. No one ever told me that a side effect of having surgery was a huge increase in the amount of "stuff" you do, I barely find myself home before 8pm EVER these days. I have no time for: TV, the internet. Would I trade it? No. Is it due to having surgery. A resounding YES. I find myself running around like a chicken with its head cut off! For all the new preops I haven't met yet: Best of luck to you. You have NO IDEA what's in store for you. I thought I'd lose weight and have more energy, be happier, etc. That's not even the tip of the iceberg. My ENTIRE life has changed. And all of it for the better. For all of ye olde folk: Hope everyone's doing well. In a way I've missed being around here, in another way, I've become way more active in "real life", and that's what I wanted anyhow. My fondest wish my entire life was to lose weight and to look and feel normal. To have that actually coming true is mind boggling to me, and a TON of fun. I'll try to be around more, but no promises. The world is calling my name! Julie 394/366/250 (yay!!!)/something under 200, would like to see 160. almost -150!!! I have almost lost my best friend, a fact which he and I both laugh at. New photos as soon as a) I take them, I've been bad about this, missed both the 5 and 6 month marks and b) I figure out this newfangled OH.

Hi Julie, I haven't been around that much myself, but not due to the very active great life that you're having!! But I have missed both you and Dianna. I am so glad to hear your life is so much better for you Julie. This surgery is amazing that's for sure. Don't feel bad about not checking in that much, you're living life and that is the name of the game. Just pop in when you get a chance, it's always good to hear from you. And I love your picture!! love donna

I know what you mean about enjoying the new you. I hike/trail run/jog/walk. The only inside exercise I get are crunches and some arm work. I LOVE being outside-- I get such a kick out of seeing my lean shadow every day!. I never get tired of it. Sound like a dumb kid don't I? Lois

Nice to meet you Julie. I am new to the VA board. Leilani said I was a snob for not hanging with you guys. I met her and the other VA folks in Lexington. What a warm and fun bunch. Congratulations on your success and all of your energy. Watch those chickens, I rather like them with their heads. Loris
