I hate Change!!!!!!

I hate the change too! Here I sit pathetically looking through old posts to add people on as my friends - and wondering if they will even know who the heck I am - wondering how I will feel when half don't answer and heaven forbid that someone rejects me - will I think they hate me or did it by accident? I know we all need to get used to change but I did like what we had before - I liked how I had my profile designed out and now I can't do that any more - my photos are tiny and not in the right place either...and I miss my music clip when I log onto it now.... I am truly trying to get used to this and it is not that difficult to do I agree - but why fix something that wasn't broken?? In a year I will be dead enthusiastic about it I know - but people who don't log onto their profiles very often will get a shock when they do next time! Okay - whining over - I don't feel better for it - I will just have to get used to it!! Jackie

Hi Susan. I understand your frustration. It's a harder system than what we had before. As Natalie said, it's very much like My Space. I think that one of the reasons for this change though is for security. Some of us post some pretty sensitive information on our profiles. Stuff that would allow us to be identifiable to anyone that could access our page. This way, you are allowing access to your information for those that you trust. It's a pain now, but once you get it set up, it will be okay. In that vein, I realize that I've moved to NC now, but would love to add you all as friends. I have enjoyed, and find much comfort, in reading your profile entries. I would hate to lose that. Take Care. ~Ellen

Hi Ellen, I'm glad to see you still come to our Va boards. I met you at the SnowBall. You and your hubby had just sold your house and you were on your way to NC. My parents live over near the Slice gate at the Lake. Do you remember? Hope you all can make your way back up in Jan. for the next event. Thanks for keeping in touch. DITTO!! I hate it! If I wanted to Myspace I would. I like OH because it is NOT Myspace. If I wanted to blog I would do that on a blog page. I adhere to the KISS principle--keep it simple stupid. I don't need a phone that does everything and do not want websites that do everything. Guess I don't have a choice in the matter. Lois

Well it has kept me busy to say the least ... I now have a running tab on my archives for all of my profile updates .. if ya need help Susan ... let me know . Nat

I understand what you mean. We aren't trying to replace or be MySpace. There have been many people who have asked about quick access to member profiles and be able to maintain a way to connect with people easily. This is why we have added the "friends" list. There are many great things about it including the photos area and many people like to blog. It also gives our members more privacy with the option to block out people from reading their information and still maintain a journal. Amy
