I am seeing a dietican(Aug, Sept) in Washington, DC and she charges $100 a visit and is going up 10 more dollors next month. I have Carefirst insurance and I can't find anyone that takes insurance now or has a resonable price. Does anyone know of any Dietican/Nutritionist in the Springfield, Woodbridge, Lorton, Fairfax, Alexandria, Arlington area. Also, will I be able to switch in the middle of my session I did Aug and Sept. I have to do 6 months all together, will that mess my chances up for getting approved? Thanks in advance.... Mo

There are dieticians staff at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Laura Royfe is one that I'm familiar with. You can check their website to get a phone number. Unfortunately, I don't have one handy. Their bariatrics department is excellent and the hospital just received their Center for Excellence accreditation. Best of luck. ~~Gail

Thanks Gail, I have a surgeon his office is the one that referred me to the dietician in DC. I don't want another surgeon I just want to finish with the rest of my 6 months. If I go to Fair Oaks do you think they will want me to see the surgeon there? Mo

CAll your insurance company and ask. Someone there should be able to tell you. Make sure you get the rep's name, though, in case one person tells you one thing and then the company refuses to honor what you were told you could do. Good luck, Lois

I agree with Lois. Call your insurance company. They will have the most up-to-date information on who is covered. You may also want to ask about switching...I personally don't see why it would be a problem, but better to ask then find out later. Another thought: Can you submit to your insurance for partial coverage? I see an out of network counselor and have to submit my own claims, but am covered for 70% of the cost. This is great because otherwise I'd not be able to go to him (and he came highly recommended to me...no one in-network was.) Christina S
