Tricare/PS

Anyone with Tricare get any plastic surgery covered and if so would you be willing to help me. I am getting frustrated with the extra skin and not enough money to self pay

portsmouth naval was going to charge me 2700.00, i should of self payed and got on the list, instead i got deferred out and got denied, and got the denial letter while in missouri for 3 weeks, by the date of the letter i had 20 days to appeal!! well it was too late by the time we got back here, i was soo mad and frustrated, i had my orthopedic docs report and went to dr. billets office for my consult, it just went nowhere fast. i didnt even get the chance to appeal anything.im going to self pay in febuary and get on the list. ive just got to get this huge roll of skin off. my hips kill me all the time. i can hardly stand it. maybe by the time im up ill get the extra 20 pounds off too!!! good luck, i hope things go well for you, i know it has been done for others but it just didnt go for me.

Why were you denied? I will be looking at Tricare and want to make sure that I get as much info as possible. Thanks Jill 263/156/145

yep, i was flat out denied, my pcm put everything in great, after i saw the ps of my choice it was put it, the doc said right up front there wouldnt be a problem, well not true,im just mad i didnt get the chance to appeal anything,i have more then enough skin, i can email ya some pics of that.my hips are small and i have on going pain in them due to the weight of my panni laying there. my ortho doc even put that the pain would not be resolved until after reconstructive surgery. still a no go, i think ill just get on the list. the doc at portsmouth said it would be considered plastic, and tricare would not approve me and pay.so i waited about 6 months and got my doc to do another referral and got deferred out to a civilian plastic surgeon this time. but that is where my luck ended. i wish you luck, i guess some get approved and some dont. beats me.lol

Tracy, I just had Tricare pay for my tummy tuck six weeks ago. They paid because I had a hernia. Be sure to document any problems, my back was killing me too, and this also was documented. Good Luck, Stacey
