You gotta Read This !!!

Today I left Rockville at 11:30 to arrive at Union Station @ 12:20 . I proceeded into the Station with only my Tinkebelle Book Bag .. Yes .. I carried it .. is a really cute Pink one too .. any hoo .. somewhere along the way I dropped my Gucci Wallet .. that had all my credit cards ... Money .. Season Passes to BG .. I had been in the station about an hour when my cell phone rings .. a man on the other ends says to me .. is this Natalie Carden .. I said Yes .. he said I have your wallet .. I said OMG where are you .. he said I am at 1300 NW 13th street ... China Town .. Down town DC .. He said I found it and was going to mail it to you but I found your business card in it .. OMG I said .. I looked at my watch .. and ran as fast as I could to the Taxi lane .. Hailed a taxi and told the driver to step on it .. Now .. in my jeans pocket I only had 13$ ... I get to the address ... the man is standing out side with my wallet .. I hugged him .. Thanked him .. jumped back into the taxi and off we go back to Union Station .. according to my watch we had 10 min left .. I go to Pay the Driver .. he says to me .. that will b 13 $ .. ( All the Money I had at the time ) Is this not awesome .. My wallet had all my money .. all my cards in it .. Just when you think the world has gone to hell and people do not care anymore .. this man showed me tonight there is hope for man kind .. that there are people who will not rob you blind .. cheat you .. and do care .. I can not say enough how this has began to restore my faith in others .. O and by the way .. it was not 10 min left it was an hour and 10 min .. my train did not leave until 2 : 40 pm .. I do have angels with me .. I am convinced today .. someone is watching over me ... Have a great night and a wonderful tommorow . Nat

What a wonderful true story. I have real trust issues. Glad there are some angels. Especially in a part of the world that I was really fearful in when I visited it. Be blessed. Shannon

That story is so great Nat! - I believe there are more honest people out there than dishonest. I was on my way to New York a couple of months ago when we stopped off at a rest station. I took my wallet into the bathroom with me and left it there. As I walked back to the car I realized what I had done and raced back in again and it was gone. I had over $300 in it plus all my cards. Thinking it had gone for good I asked someone for the lost and found so I vould report it, and when I went there they had it!! An employeee had handed it in! I gave her $20 for her honesty and went back to my car feeling so relieved. If I had not got it back I did not have enough gas to get to New York or to go back home again!! And my son and au pair were in the car too. It would have been a really bad situation! So that day I know how lucky I was!! Have a great day! Jackie

Hi Natalie, You don't know me, but I feel like I know you from reading your profile and posts for quite sometime. I am so glad that someone helped you in your time of need because it seems like you are ALWAYS there for everyone else. My mom always told me that good things happen to goos people - obviously it was true in this instance! I am so very inspired by all that you have overcome and all the support and love you share with every person that is at some stage in the WLS surgery process. I wish you all the best and hope to one day meet you and thank you personally. I wish you all the best in your struggles that you are dealing with right now. I have faith that you will come out on top again. Thanks again! And thanks to all of the rest of you regular posters too! I have loved reading your stories with all of the ups and downs. Nat, That's great to hear. I ran into the same situation as he did with you at Wal Mart once. I was putting my cart away and noticed a ladies purse sitting there. So I took it and was heading into Cust Svc when I decided to look inside to see if there was any identification. Well, wouldn't you know it; when I opened it there's this wad of money folded in half (probablyl about 2" thick) and it was nothing but $20s! You KNOW that little devil jumped up on my shoulder and said, "Hey....she'll never know who took the money. You can just say that you found it with no money in it!" Then the popped up on the other shoulder and said; "But what if it's her rent money and she gets kicked out?" Needless to say....I quickly closed the purse to avoid looking at that wad any longer. I ran it iinside to Cust Svc and got out of there. Terrible thing a conscience....won't let you get away with anything!!!! Glad you got everything safe and sound. Keith
