new PCP needed

I need a new PCP in the Richmond, Chesterfield Co. area. I changed doctors about 3 years ago, to get one closer to my town. I have recently changed from that doctor, can't deal with her incompetant staff. I chose one who I just can't feel comfortable with. Also, they didn't have large enough chairs in the waiting room. I had to either stand or sit on the edge of the chair. Please, can someone recommend a good family doctor, where they also have larger chairs in the waiting room? I don't really care if it's male or female, but preferably one in an office with male doctors, as my husband needs to change also. An added bonus would be someone who speaks fluent English. I have a really hard time understanding the one I have currently. Any recommendations? Please? I will try to find this post again to read replies. LOL. I've asked a few questions here, only to not be able to find them again to read the replies. Thanks. Linda p.s. I know I can look at the list of physicians, but that doesn't tell me how people feel about them.

Hi Linda: Personally, I do not have a PCP because I see an endocrinologist for just about everything, but my husband has been seeing William Tucker, MD over in the West End and has seen him for years. He just loves him and will go to no one else. I used to see Stephen Reinhardt, MD in Midlothian; he has a nurse practitioner named Kara Foster-Weiss who is just wonderful. Mark Barr, MD in Glenside area is also good; that's who my mother-in-law and other in-laws see and they really like him. All speak English as their primary language. Hope this helps. Dawn

Dr. Peter Coleman in Hamilton Street is awesome. He has been my PCP for 10 years now. I never have a problem getting in to see him and he has a great NP. Tammy

Linda, Not certain how close you are to Colonial Heights; but I've been going to Dr Joseph Lemming for years at Prime Care Family Practice. The staff is very friendly and I don't think I've ever had to wait past my original appointment time due to them over booking appointments. That's the most important thing to me. I hate having to wait because of them. Like the other day I went to see a new dentist and my appointment was for 4:15......I didn't see the doctor until 7pm that evening!!! WAS NOT HAPPY!!!! Let me know if you want their number. Keith

Thanks for all the replies. The chair size is more important than I portrayed it to be. I find myself not going in, when I really should, simply because it's so humiliating to not fit the chairs. If I can get in them at all, I run the risk of the chair coming up with me when I stand. Need I say more? LOL. It's really an important part of the decision. Thanks. Linda
