Well - I've gotten a date - drum roll please - OCT 23RD...I'm glad that part of the process is over - I'm now in supply gathering mode - what type of items will I need after the surgery - I know that I will need Crystal Light and a digital scale, what specific vitamins will I need and I know about the protein supplements - I'm trying to get a list together because my family and friends want to give me gifts for my re-birthday...any and all suggestions will be appreciated... RED ROVER - RED ROVER - SEND TONYA RIGHT OVER TO THE LOSING SIDE IN 77 DAYS & COUNTING!!!

Congrats on getting your date! Make sure you have some good walking shoes for after surgery! As for vitamins, your doctor or nutritionist should give you those specifics. Protein....I think it's a personal choice (taste bud driven)...so maybe start ordering some samples and give them a try. Best of the best to you as you prepare! Christina S

Hi Tonya! Congratulations on your date. It will be here before you know it. Here's what I've found helpful. - Immediately following the surgery (in the hospital) bring baby wipes. They're good to kind of freshen yourself up. - Brita pitcher. You'll be drinking A LOT OF WATER. I found it was much easier and more economical than buying cases of bottled water. - A cane, or something else that will help you stand up. You only need it a couple days, but it's a great help. I borrowed one for a while. - Sugar Free popsicles. I still love these things. - Baby food, especially baby food fruit. The meats are pretty much crap according to my nutritionist, avoid them. If I think of more I will let you know. Good luck! Julie

Wow, Tonya, now that is exciting news!!! I know how I felt when I finally got my date. Just make sure you are careful with what you eat....try to get used to the new way of life early. Makes the transition easier, I thought..Anyway, you will be a loser soon, GF so get ready for the journey of your life. Hugs, Betsy

- Make sure you take a pillow to the hospital for more comfort as well as to hold against your stomach on the way home -sugar free jello -in addition to the crystal light you may also want to try flavored, non-carbonated, water drinks like fruit 2 O - I found an excellent blender/ food processor called the Magic Bullet - you can blend your stuff in the same cup you drink out of, the cup can be microwaved and they have tops to put on them for refrigerator storage as well - which comes in handy since there are ususally left overs....... Good luck! Monique D

Congrats Tonya! Dr Hoffman assisted with my surgery. I've never met him but I am doing great so he did a great job!! You are in awesome hands!! My suggestion...bring some loose pants-type jammies to the hospital...it sure felt great to put on my own clothes and get out of the yucky hospital gown! Good luck and let me know if you need anything! Christine
