Protein Bars
Hi everyone, just wondering if any of you know of some good protein bars that is high in protein and low in sugar. I want some that taste fairly good. I need them to help with my sugar and keeping me more on a even level during the day. I seem to not keep enough protein in my body that my doc wants me to eat them inbetween meals as snacks. It can be drinks as well. I have tried Kat drinks but do not like anything dealing with coffee. Any help is appreaciated.
I am also having dizzy problems so that is alot of fun. Can not go up or down ladders now and that is going to be a problem at my job. If anyone has any ideas as to how to stop this and be able to go back to what I was doing would be great.
I amit I have not had the surgery but was hoping that if any of you could help me with this I would be greatful. As some of you know I was turned down for it but that is ok. I am making it so far and my weight is going from 195 to 219 back and forth. I will be glad when I get out of school so that I can get a new and better job.
Glad to see everyone getting on the losing side and am proud reading all of yours posts and will help you if I can. I will keep everyone in my prayers.
http://www.ishophere.biz is a wonderful site that has great protein bars and some with no sugar at all! I use these and love them..... they also have protein pretzels which are low in everything and delicious - have a look at the website and if you have any questions just drop me a line........
I hope you can get approval for this wonderful surgery in the future.....

There are a lot of protein bars out there, some rather tasty and some that taste like death warmed over....and if I did find one I really liked, it was only around for a year or so until it was phased out. I still see the Detour bars for sale occassionally, but I ended up making my own, homemade hi protein lo sugar meal replacement bars. It's a variation on Logan Bread, a hikers bread from back in the sixties, but it's been tweaked quite a bit. The recipe is in my profile...and the good thing is you can substitute, tweak, change it to fit your needs. It is a bit dryer than a moist bar cookie, but not too bread like. Give it a look see, and see if it might fit your needs. I still use it nearly 3 years out...because I like the changeability of it.
Good luck!
Hello!
Pre-op I tried the Power Crunch bars (I think there is an ad below). They tasted really good to me then and I'm sure they are high protein/low sugar since they are designed for us post-ops. Maybe give those a try....several places online sell them...not sure about "real" retailers.
