I completely agree with JACKIE! Not only do I agree, but I lived it and still do - I think people go to all kinds of extremes with this surgery and to eleminate ANY specific food group, completely is just DANGEROUS! Our bodies, even with this surgery, was designed to run on a BLEND -- that blend includes things like fats, carbs, yep, even some forms of sugars (from fruits, etc) ...so to completely disgard any of these groups, to me (nope, not a doctor or a rocket scientist, just a blond born with a lotta common sense) ...so for me, I have NEVER given up or gone extreme in those areas. My entire weight loss process (needed to lose 230 lbs) the only true steadfast rule I had for myself was that my PROTEIN intake always had to be HIGHER then my CARB intake. If my total carbs that day came in at 90, then my protein had to be at least 91 - it always had to surpass it and that's all I was concerned about. As far as the "fats" go? RNY's malabsorb FATS - since the servings that I normally was looking for (like a pat of butter in grits) was so minimal, it just really didn't matter, ya know? Not to mention, those "fats" help to keep our skin and hair soft and growing - My take on it? To eliminate food groups is asking for a huge group of other problems. Granted - not everyone is wired different, so your mileage may vary. btw - Im another GRITS-a-holic. What can I say, Hawaiian Father and a Southern Bell for a mother - we lived on the stuff. Another way to ENJOY those grits and add some protein to it? Add a fried egg to it - YUMMY!!!! Enjoy - Lei

I totally agree with Lei ... I for one use real butter salted . And I do not use anything that says Fat Free . I know where my limits are . I eat now to survive .. and it must taste good . I use only the amount that is conducive to my taste . It is all ones preference . Fat in small amounts is good for us . Like Lei said ..your hair and skin need some amounts . And as to Fat Free... when you get the chance - look at a bottle of FF Salad dressing ... and then look at the sugar contents .. in order to make the stuff taste good they up the sugar .. hmmm not something I want to tangle with . So I use and will always use the real deal . Best wishes to you , Natalie

Autumn, John/Missy told me to use I can't believe its not butter, the spray. It tastes good and it doesn't contain much. I use it on my grits/cream of wheat, etc. Amber

Yeah, I'd be careful with that. I've driven a few times, short distance and not at night. I just wanted to be given the go-ahead first, just in case. I hate being bottled up though, I will be free tomorrow! Woohoo. I think I'm going to leave early for my appointment and taken my son to the Children's Museum in Portsmouth since I have to go back to work on Friday. He'll like that. Glad you are feeling better!! Enjoy your non-butta! Amber
