Cheryl,
I have been a few times and will be going next year again as well. We have a time share so we go often. Anyone want to join us? LOL
I love Montego Bay and Negril. We stay at an all inclusive resort usually when we go and they always have an open bar. The resorts are full of things to do and shops. If you do venture out of the resort area beware of going behing the wooden fences to the flea market type shops. We have done this a few times and if you don't buy something the people get really rude and nasty and some even chase you down! I get my hair braided every time so I don't have to fool with it while I am there. They only do that off of the resorts. It is not really "slums", just be careful of where you go and do not go alone. Hope you have a great time and let me know if you want help booking it. I can usually get some good deals through my time share for friends and family.

Sure any help I can get to plan this would help. My friend vicki and I wanted to stay at an all inclusive resort. I was looking at montego bay. I have been looking through the internet, and I have a travel book. But I wanted to actually get some experienced peoples input.
I wanted to go to kingston to visit the bob marley stuff. And go where his resting place is too. And go to the shops. I did hear as well that the locals are mean and dont like americans... Dont know how true that is.
When are you guys going. I wanted to go in August when the reggae fest was, but vickie said that's to far away. So I think we are going to try for March, April or May...
Does a lot of the visitors get there hair braided. Do u get it done there or here? Thanks for your help and info!
