Chips, Ice cream, candy!!
I feel ya, my friend Patty did a wonderful thing and made me a huge pot of spaghetti with meat balls to feed my kid when I didn't feel like making dinner. Plus, she brought a large pan of chocolate frosted brownies, is she nuts?!?!?!?!? I will admit, I licked a smidge of the frosting and then ran as far aways as I could! There is still half a pan sitting in there, but I'm taking them to my meeting tomorrow night, someone else is eating those bad boys!
Amber
Hi Amber, one thing for you, I think, is that you are so close to your date that you probably still aren't having any tempting pangs - I don't think I was the slightest bit tempted at the early stages. But what a friend!! That was a sweet gesture though, and when yu think of it what could she have brought that would have been lots of protein and yummy for the kids (other than chicken, steak, that kind of thing) I think you have a great friend in Patty!!

Chips, ice cream, candy OH MY !!!!..lol
You know what..you are SOOOOOOOOOOOO right on all that. I have 4 kids and a husband. Now I won't have any of that stuff around. Everyone has to eat better in my house. I will pay out of the ying yang when the ice cream man drives down the street..but no Ben and Jerry's in here. It's the devil !!!..hehe
You look FANTASTIC Donna !!!!!! I love reading your profile and you look a model. I bet your husband thinks he hit gold !!!!
Dana
Hi Dana, first, thanks for your nice comment -- a model!! That's quite a compliment, thank you very much
You know I should have also added that I did buy fruit (lots of nice peaches, plums, nectarines) which I had to throw out yesterday cause they were rotten! No one ate those. Also, I definitely would not buy that junk if they were my kids living at home (like your four), but as they say, being a grandma has it's privileges and you can buy junk, get them all sugared up, and then send them back to mamma!! By the way, I haven't heard from my daughter yet so she is probably dealing with the sugar withdrawal (plus she has four other kids!)
It was so funny, one night we went to Friendlys to dinner (I don't know if they have those in Va Beach, just a little family restaurant), and my nine year old grandson said it was the best restaurant he has ever eaten in, and 'do you have to clear the table yourself, grandma'!!! Ha ha -- I told my daughter she needs to get those kids out of McDonalds!! It was funny
Thanks for the post Dana,

I could not have read this at a better time . I just spent the weekend with my grandbabies .. at the beach . And I went shopping for our day's eats . I managed to get us Chicken .. which in itself is not to bad for them .. but I did manage to give them all baked chips .. except for the fritos .. LOL ...
It is hard .. and congrats to you for getting thru it .. it shows that you do have total control .. and if you did eat a taste .it is just that ..
This surgery does not prevent us from enjoying life .. it only makes us accountable and able to use our tool . A lot come to me and ask how I manage not being able to eat .. well I am here to tell you that I so eat .. and enjoy my lifestyle .. while I may not be munching down on chips .. french fries .. I have learned to substitue other favorites .. and from time to time will have a taste of the wild side ... I know my limits ... and always keep to the calorie rule .. calories in ..calories out ...
So glad you got to spend time with them ... and as to the squirrels .. let them eat Fruit Loops !!!
Love ya ,
Nat
Hi Natalie, one thing I have found out about myself through this short process I am going through is that I am a FOOD PUSHER. I see that now.
I wouldn't say that I exactly have control, what I had was a good flight plan for them to leave right when perhaps my control would give out!! But I go them out, and the junk out, probably just in time!

Dear Courtney, pretty girl -- I'm glad I can give you inspiration, or my life stories can give you inspiration! It is interesting, I always hear this surgery was on our stomach, not our heads, and that is so true. I found myself looking at things that I really had no real desire to eat, just habit, It was weird.

Donna - you are soooo funny!!
I love how you write - you should consider writing your story...it would be a best seller!!!
It is hard with kids around...but we have all changed...since I'm the one doing the shopping - they eat whats in the house - or as my 20 year old daughter has learned - she has to go and buy it herself.
I hope I will be able to see you on the September 30th. I have put it on the calendar!
Hugs!
Jill
