Chips, Ice cream, candy!!
Yup, that is what my house has been filled with the last two weeks with my daughter and grandkids around. The last two just left yesterday - I'm pooped!! But here's what I want to say -- to all you mothers out there, and others that have husbands, wives, significant others, etc that still like to have 'junk' in the house -- God Bless You!! I didn't eat any of it, but I have to tell you another day or two and I might just succumb!! It sure looked good - just as I remember it!! Oh, and the trips to the fast food places with french fries hanging around (Grandma, I can't finish these, do you want them!!), ugh --- deliver me from temptation!!!
So to those of you that fight these food battles every day - congratulations on the good fight!! I admire you, respect you, and even if you have little nibbles now and then -- well so be it, you are living life!!
And now I go back to my boring little routine for which I am oh so thankful and my boring little refrigerator that now looks empty, and the fruit loop box that is now empty with its contents tossed out to the squirrels (enjoy you little furry pigs)!!

Hi Donna...So glad to here that you were able to fight the munchies. I know just what you were going through as being in Washington State the month of July I suffered the same temptations...although I did succumb a few times to the chips. Since I have been home, I have been very watchful of everything I eat. Starting now to see some loss. Hopefully the sun will be out today long enough for me to go for a nice long walk. I sure need it. BTW, your picture is just beautiful!!! What an amazing change you have been through in the last year. I am so proud of you. Give Greg a hug for me and have him give one to you from me....Love ya both..
Hugs,
Betsy
Donna, you're a hoot!
I too wonder how the WLS mommies and daddies do it. I have been known to buy all kinds of crap when I have company coming, knowing in my heart they will never eat all of it, but "just in case". Then when they leave, I either send it with them, or dump it on some unsuspecting coworkers, or just dump it. Whatever, I can't have it in my house 'cause then next thing you know, it's on my hips.
I'm glad you had a great time visiting with your family. But it is nice to get back to the boring routines.
luv,
Carole
Hey Carole, great to see you! Here's the routine - I pick my visitors up from the airport and the first stop is Safeway so they can buy the stuff I don't have. And for the grandkids of course I encourage them to get WHATEVER THEY WANT because I spoil them rotten!! So we got about 3 different flavors of ice cream (threw out two half empty cartons today), any kind of cereal, and what ever else they want. I of course did not give this type of shopping privilege to my two daughters, but it's different being a grandma!!
Our kitchen is just about 'clean' again - I think there might be a drumstick left in the freezer, but that's it and Greg will have that tonight for dessert

Donna,
I know what you mean, my husband is a chocolate, peanuts or ice cream junkie. I have to have them on hand at all times...so far I'm been good, & not eating any of that at all! To top it off I take care of my niece's 3 children in the summer while she's at work & after school...during the school year...so I've got the cereal, chips, cookies & everything else these kids like to eat! But so far, I've been blessed & not want to eat any of it.
So to all of us that pass on all the temptations around us, we've may it through another day!
Well, I'm off to make my husband's banana split.
