Jill, To answer your questions: Is the pain tolerable--very much so. The worst for me is at night. That is when I feel like my body is trying to stretch out. I have been off pain meds since day six, except for one at night. Worse or about the same as WLS-well I had open gastric, and gastric was ten times worse! I am moving around much better than I did from gastric. I think b/c I had open gastric, I knew some tricks...like using your knees when sitting on the toliet, etc. The drains were the worst part and they were just very uncomfortable. And it was painful when they took them out, but Dr. Drake did it extremely fast, so about an hour after they were gone, it was ten times better. You might have posted this already, but how long after your WLS did you wait till PS? My WLS was just 1-16-06, so I am thinking that I will be looking for PS about this time next year, sometime in the summer. Sometimes I just can't even imagine that it really is me and that I am "really" losing all this weight! I still see myself in my minds eye as fat. Does your mind catch up with your body? What does your husband think? Mine says he doesn't mind the skin - but personally, its going to come off! One way or another - it's outta here!
