Loser - update!
Hey guys! I just stole this out of my profile, because I didn't want to have to type it up again! Some of it you already know, but it works!
I'm one week post op and I feel like a million bucks (most of the time).
My surgery went perfectly. They removed my gallbladder and did a liver biopsy, so it took approximately 3 hours. I was in terrible pain went coming out into the recovery room. They filled my stomach so full of gas too see, that it was at least 3 times the size. I tried to walk it off, but it just wouldn't work. Pain meds got me through. I had a few wonderful visitors, including my Angel Kelli. She brought me a beautiful angel bear, I love it!!!!
I got released from the hospital on Friday (21st) and that ride home shook a little bit loose and I finally started getting rid of gas slowly. Sunday is when I finally felt like a human being. I wasn't in pain and I had my first bowel movement. I'm definitely reborn and it finally came full circle. No suppositories either, bonus! I also started to understand my food intake and outake. I hadn't ate or drank much because of the pain.
I'm finally rid of that gas. I'm getting all of my supplements and water down. I'm walking a lot. And guess what? I've lost 14.5 pounds already, eeek. The only problem I'm really having is getting my psych meds down. I can't crush them anymore, they taste too awful. I've resorted to cutting them into little pieces. It helps and I drink more water doing that. I'm going back to work on Friday of next week. I hope I can keep my energy going for a 10 hour shift.
That's all for now, but I'll try to update every week. Thanks to everyone on the OH Boards, you guys rock!

Hey Amber - you are doing great! I had open so never suffered the gas that you did so I had no issues like that - just had to watch the healing of the scar.
I had to crush my blood pressure medication after surgery - yuk that tasted awful so I started to break them into small pieces too......... drinking as much liquid with them as you can makes them dissolve better too.
You are doing just fine Amber - just like we knew you would! You have the right attitude!
Take care
Jackie
Amber-
You're doing great! I go in today to get my staples removed (from the incision since I had open). I'll update more after that, but I totally understand what you mean when you said that you let the nurses do way more than you ever thought you would....those ladies must see and do it all!
