Lois?
I am here having good days and bad. Cody's boss was left strapped for help (he is a small, independent electrical contractor) so this week I put on her work clothes and went to work temporarily. My son works there too, so I am actually helping him out as well.
The first two weeks went like a blur, the third week was terrible, the fourth I felt some improvement and now I actually feel organanized enough to get a few things done. Had I not had the summer off, I do not know how I could have returned to my work (teaching) in a reasonable amount of time.
Not a day goes by that I do not have crying spells, but they are getting shorter.
I am on the way out the door for some research testing at MCV, related to my surgery.
Thank you for your support and concern,
Lois
G'morning Lois,
I'm so glad I caught your update, as well. It's amazing how much the grieving process can mirror others. Your first two weeks, third and fourth, all resemble what I went through when my brother (and psuedo twin, only 9 months 2 wks apart in age) passed away. I could have written that paragraph of emotions via the timeline.
EVERY TIME YOU CRY, you allow your body to heal. It can feel like a slow process, at times, but it's much needed, to get YOU back to [almost] whole again.
Take care of YOU, hugs - Lei
Hi Melinda,
I made a separate posting about the results of today's testing. The purpose of the study is to provide baseline statistics about women 21-55 who have had WLS at MCV. This is to provide justification for a proposal to include the Exercise Physiology Dept. in the treatment program for all WLS patients at MCV. They want to be involved with diagnosing and treating folks with exercise problems, and exercise prescriptions.
