Husband made it through surgery but....

It was changed from lap to open which wasn't surprising. What was surprising was that they kept him on the ventilator till 11:30am this morning. (surgery was yesterday late afternoon until evening). He seems to be fine now except for the pain of course. I'm just curious if this happened to anyone else and if there are long term complications from being under for so long?! The surgeon had a hard time getting his intestines to stretch to his new stomach and I'm just concerned about potential problems. Thanks guys! I lurk a lot and appreciate any advice.

Glad he is doing better now. Walking will help w/ the pain. He will be back and bouncing before long. SHannon
