Did you keep it a secret????
I told my husband, mother in law, sister in law and two friends and that was all. I never told my immediate family back in Scotland and still haven't. I also was not interested in anyone telling me horror stories or lies when they haven't had it themselves. As people are noticing now I am telling them what I had done because I am certainly not ashamed of it!
My sister in Scotland has always been the slimmer one of the family and although she has struggled a little with her weight she was always way way thinner than me. When I am done and have had my plastic surgery (skin is already sagging and it is only 64lbs so far - another 50 or so to go) with my flat stomach and my sticky out boobs I plan to go back to Scotland for a visit and shock the heck out of all of them!!!! That thought is keeping me warm lol!!

I talked about this surgery off and on for many years, it was the only way I could get "real" information. Doctors can tell you most of the facts, but those who have had it only really know it all. Without talking about it, I wouldn't know.
Personally, I feel similar to Tammy C, but you do have to do what's best for you. Now that I'm finally having the surgery, I've told my family, my closest friends, my boss, and a few co-workers. I am preparing for the questions.
I was thinking about it today and decided to tell my co-workers because I'd rather be able to express my reasonings and thoughts behind it now, when I'm well, then one month after surgery and I'm 40-60 pounds less.
There will be no hiding it. And I'm definitely not ashamed of it.
But I won't be putting an ad in the newspaper.
I'm sure you'll do what's best for you, have a good one!
