Revision Surgery in Hampton Roads Area

They did a CAT Scan in November. My surgeon claims there is nothign wrong. I pointed out I frequently have the feeling of something poking me in my mid section. If I roll over at night, it always feels like something is poking me. However, my surgeon doesn't thing I have any staple distruption. He simply wants to send me to the dietician to have her yell at me for gaining weight. I've NEVER gained 30lbs in 9 months. NEVER. The most I ever gained was 20 in 10 months when my grandfather died. Normally I gained about 10lbs per yr. I think 30lbs in 9 months is MAJOR red flag, hello there is something wrong time. But my surgeon doesn't seem to think so. So I am trying to find another one.

I would think that an EGD to look inside the pouch or an upper GI with barium would show whether things are intact the way they should be. Mind you, I was in my past life able to gain alot more than 30 lbs in 9 months but that is my body. I could gain 2 times faster than I lost weight. Sadly so. Good luck! Kathy

Hey Leland (again), Obviously I know nothing about this whole revision thing but I'm thinking that if all of your tests come back showing nothing wrong, you may be hard pressed to find a surgeon who will do a revision (there has to be something to revise). So are you thinking that your doc is reading the test results wrong or just missing something? As far as the 30 pounds...I can gain 30 pounds in less than a month (before surgery). It may help you to keep a food log so that when you go in, you can say, here is what I'm able to eat every day...Sometimes that kind of info may be more helpful than the tests. Christine
