I'M HOME !!!
I just got home about 30 minutes ago. Most of you know I had my surgery at the Barix Clinics in Pennsylvania on Wed, was released on Friday and stayed in a hotel until this morning.
Thanks for all your support. The worst things were totally different tan what I expected: 1. some junk I had to drink before surgery to neutralize my stomach acid-gross 2. The stuff I had to drink when I did the barium swallow. I heaved and heaved. I have never been able to take liquid medicine so these were a challenge for me. 3.the other thing that I hated was the catheter. I felt like I was ready to explode the whole time I had it. When they finally took it out at noon on day 2 I cried just out of sheer relief.
The pain was not near as bad as I anticipated. All the breathing treatments weren't comfortable but my pain level never got above a 4 and usually stayed at a 2 or 3.
I could give you lots more details but most of you have lived through it already. I am so glad to be a "loser". I can already tell tht getting my protein in will be a challenge but there's always a ton of good advice on this board to help me with that.
Thanks again for all your support.
Love,
Jenn
Welcome to the Loser's Bench Jenn. Been thinking and praying for you. Glad to hear you are well. Those nasty drinks will be nothing but a faint memory before you know it. I was so excited to get my catheter out too. I could not wait to shower when they took mine away. The morphine made me itch really bad.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Wow, Jenn, You are now a loser!!!! It is such an amazing journey and so full of surprises. I have wow moments at least once a week. I still can't believe that it is me when I catch myself in the mirrors at the mall and now I love to look at clothes. Life is wonderful and I am so enjoying it again. Hope everything goes well for you and you keep us updated on your progress.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hey Jenn.........
WELCOME HOME!!!!
I am sure you are one happy camper just to be home. I guess some of the things they tell us are just different for different people. I did know about the barium we have to drink to check for leaks before we leave the hospital but I didn't know about the stuff before. I am sure that each hospital and doctors do things different...thus why we haven't heard of it.
It has to feel great to be on the lossing side of things. I can't wait for my special day to get here. Two weeks from today. You hang in there and do what your doctors tell you too. I am sure that each and every day will get a little better. Just think, a few month from now........all of this will be a distant memory and you will be concentrating on lossing, buying new clothes, and finally becoming the woman you've always dreamed of being.
Lots of Love
