What are you eating?? Help!!!
Oh, Donna,
I am having the same trouble. I can eat steak tho. Not much but I can eat it. But no chicken it comes right back up. I am at the point that I stick mostly to my protein shakes. Here my menu.
B- Protein Shake
L- maybe a small salad with cheese, bacon, eggs on it. Or maybe One of those little lunch cups of chili
3:00PM Protein shake
D- Protein shake
Then I start with the snacking. sugar free ice pops, watermelon, or strawberries, Maybe some trail mix. The one with nuts and raisns.
Then I start the next day the same. And if I eat something that doesn't stay down then I will just wait a little while and drink a protein shake. My habit is not to good. But I'm afraid that I won't get the protein in if I don't do the shakes. I use fat free low carb milk with my shakes. Good luck. But just to let you know you are not alone. I had my surgery Jan 31, 2006 and I'm down from 239 to 177. Ellie
Ditto what Nat said. I get the majority of my protein through drinks. i can eat nuts and peanut butter, but jeezy--the calories! The only things I can count on are cottage cheese, yogurt and most semi-hard or semi-soft cheeses.
When I was at work (off for the summer now) I had a protein drink at 6am, 1 Wasa crispbread at 9, protein drink at 10:30. Maybe 1/2 c cottage cheese at noon, icewater all day long, something hot for dinner, like new potatoes with Feta cheese and Asiago cheese and spinach OR chili. In the evening several sf popsicles, no sugar added fudgesicles. I also eat pieces of protein bars, as one would candy. I rarely eat over 1/2 of one per day. There is little wiggle room in this, and I have to be careful not to eat more than 900 calories.
I have, as Nat suggested, upped my exercise and sometimes I have another protein drink in the evening depending what my calorie count has been.
You don't sound anorexic to me. Hope you get some more specific advice from Nat.

Lois .. you sound like a Cheese head like me .. Asiago .. I love that stuff .. and any soft cheeses like Blue .. or Brie .. yes a little high in the calories .. I love to take cheese like parmesian .. or a strong cheddar .. get out my non stick pan .. sprinkle a little in the bottom of the pan .. let it get gooyey .. then let it harden .. once it crisp up .. i eat it like chips .. YUMMMM OOO
Cheese is great protein .. and I eat it daily .. I snack on it .. incorporate it into my meals .. I also found these little squares .. about an inch thick .. they are soft swiss .. OMG .. pop one of them in .. or on a cracker .. Double yum oooo .
any hoo .. that is my take on Cheeeeeeseee ... My fav food .
Okay--you done done it! Now i can't wait to fix some cheese crisps. Wonder it it would work with cottage cheese ?
Will definitely make some with Asiago and Parmesan!
Have you tried Manchego?? YUM.
Thanks for reminding me of these. I had read about them in the past, but never got around to making any. I HAVE tried the pepperoni crisps and LOVE them.

WOW, I feel like such a WL Freak. There is nothing, I mean nothing, that I can't eat. Its as if I never had the surgery. Steak, Chicken, Sugar, you name it. I had hoped for some resistance to foods to keep me honest. NOPE. And I find it a daily stuggle. I find myself thinking about food all day long.
I don't ever want to go back to where I was. But some days I feel myself slippin. I have not lost any weight ( a few lb's go up and down) in 6 months. I wouls love to lose 20 more pounds.
Susan
Hello Susan, when I saw you a week or so ago, I thought you looked great, and actually where you should be! 20 lbs seems like a lot for you at this time. I would be satisfied with where you are and just maintain it -- which is what you're doing, a few lbs up and down, and able to eat everything!! How awesome is that!! You are the WL poster girl!!!
thanks for the message Susan,
love
