Redistribution of body weight? What's going on?

Reposting this and hoping someone has something to share! Have any of you noticed a "redistribution" of body weight? I lost alot in my chest and was smaller than ever before in my life (and LOVING it!).... and I'd lost all hope of getting a breast reduction (and lift) covered by insurance..... Within the last month, and at my lowest weight, (and still losing - have about 10 lbs. to go) I suddenly put weight back on in the chest. It is very upsetting to me, and I can't shake the depression. Tops I'd bought and felt comfortable wearing I no longer want to wear. A new dress I had professionally hemmed no longer fits in the chest and hangs in the closet. Anyway, my husband keeps saying maybe now my breast reduction will be covered by insurance, and while that does make me happy - there is from now until then to live with. I didn't realize HOW happy I was being small-chested for the first time ever - it has been a curse my whole life. Am I alone in this strange phenomenon of redistributed body weight?! Crystal

Are you on any new medication such as birth control or anything with hormones? It doesn't seem like the body would just suddenly redistribute the weight without a reason. I know in your last post you said you were NOT pregnant. If you are still losing weight it seems strange that you would put back weight in your chest area....unless the Breast Augmentation Fairies visited you on accident !!!.. Hope you get some good input...Call your doc if you are still unsettled about it. I know I would !!

Good thought, but no, I'm not on any new meds or birth control or anything like that. I'm wondering if it could be hormonal, even though I'm 40-something?! Someone on the main board said they had 18" thighs at one point, then went back to their pre-surgery "thin" thigh measurement of 21". Maybe some of our bodies just want to be what they once were? All I can say is I'd NEVER been in a B cup - well, since about 4th grade......... now it's back up to a C - of course, that's down from DDD, so I feel like I shouldn't be complaining! But I actually had less or no back pain for the first time in years when I was in that B cup....... darn! Crystal

Earlier this year I fit into a pair of jeans that I ended up not being able to wear again as they were suddenly too tight. I couldn't figure it out. Now I wonder if it is because I lost more weight and more skin fell southward and is filling up the waist of the pants. I was a DD cup and am now down to a D. I don't fill the top of the D but I fill the bottom of it so I have to buy a D. The bottom of the D is filled with my deflated hanging skin that were formerly known as breasts. Kathy

Kathy, what you're saying is that "everything" is moving south??!! Dang - that sucks! Sorry about the pants! It's weird how our body's work after this surgery - I really have lost differently than ever before. My thighs are much thinner too, and I wonder if they'll fill out too, like your waist?? Strange... Well, at least when I was a B cup I could hoist the girls back due north, but now they're too heavy to go anywhere but down! I look forward to PS and mini torpedos! Crystal

Crystal, have you changed anthing in your exercise routine that may be targeting that area and building up the muscle & making your breats seem fuller? That was the most my little brain could come up with. Courtney

Courtney - also a good thought! I am not really doing anything different - cardio, pushups, pilates, yoga...... the same stuff I've been doing all along. I am about to add deep water workouts - I wonder what that'll do to this strange new body of mine?! BTW, you don't have a "little" brain..... unless of course, Kathy's theory about things moving south after surgery include our brains! LOL! My husband and kids might sign up for that idea if they heard it! Crystal
