Wow moment
Hi Susan!
She's doing okay -- well enough for us to go bowling and hopefully to the gym this weekend.
Sadly, no I am not coming to Richmond this month. In exchange for all of the help that my sister provided me when I was running around to tests and doctors appointments and such, I have agreed to babysit her children for that weekend so that she and Cleve could go.
Hopefully there'll be some sort of event in this area soon that I can go to.
If not, I've already promised to go in January.

Thats awsome Julie! Keep up the great work! And thats really awsome that you will be donating your hair to locks of love, they really need it. There are so many children.
I 'm a hair stylist and the last time I was working was back home in New Orleans, the salon I worked for would actually send the hair to Locks of Love. I don't know where you get your hair cut but, they may take it and send it for you. Anyway, Keep it up girlie!!!!
Hugs,
Andrea
Hi Andrea,
The website was pretty informative. Apparently all you do is fill out a form and send it in a padded envelope. I mentioned that I was going to do this at work, and they even gave me the envelope. Now all I have to do is get it together.
Sorry I missed you Monday. See you next month!

That is awesome Julie !
I can relate to the exersise and water increase . I remember when I first started out walking , I hated it ... but the more I did it .. the more weight came off .. I tried other means of exersise too . And LOVE it now . Your body is 75 % water and craves it . IT is the means of it's survival . When a person does not get in their fluids .. Imagine your insides looking like a raisin .. all drawn and pruny ... The more you put in ... the more it wants .. and the more you put in .. the faster your motabolism gets .. it is a neat concept ... and is a working machine .. !!!
Keep the protien and water coming in .. the weight will continue to fall off .. you will go thru stalls ,... ( Hates the word Platueau ) ...
Tell DI .. I tried to call her .. and text her .. and Miss her .
Keep up the great work .. you will reap the benefits .
Nat
Haha Natalie, because of you I was envisioning pruny stomachs and livers and stuff on the way to work this morning. It made me laugh. Thanks.
I remembered the ladies at the surgeon's office telling me that I needed to drink more water in order to lose more weight when I was preop, and then promptly forgot it when I was done with the preop diet. Then last week I noticed that I went the whole day at work without using the bathroom, which kind of worried me.
So I'm trying to set up a schedule, drink a liter of water, wait, eat breakfast. Drink another, wait, eat lunch. Drink another, wait, eat dinner. So far this is almost working, I'm making it through 2.5 liters of water a day. I try to throw some protein shakes in the middle of that cycle (either before or after the water) and I've managed to get two in a day that way. I'm working on more.
I guess we'll see what happens from here -- next week it's on to regular food, which scares me a little.

Julie~
Good for you! Walking is my fav exercise and I hate the eplicital! I will get back on it again someday but for now I will stick with the gazzelle and the treadmill. For some reason the gazelle does not bother me but the eplicital showed me muscles I never knew I had! I have donated my hair fouor times already and will be making another donation in about another week or two. Locksof love.org is the site for the form and address to send it to. It is a great thing to do!

Hi Tammy!
Do they tell you if your hair actually gets used? Better, do they offer a picture? That would be great.
When I get down far enough (Isn't the max weight for the Gazelle like 250?) I would love to try that too. Isn't that sort of the same thing as the elliptical, though?
Thanks. I already have plans not to cut my hair significantly again until it's time for the next donation. I love to help people, especially kids like this.
