Home from endoscopy!

I am home from the endoscopy. My thoat is a tiny bit sore - my head is POUNDING - the precare nurse got my IV on the first try and that was wonderful. I don't remember much of the whole procedure besides being on the bed, having some oxygen and the nurse telling me to roll over on my side (she made me real comfy and that was cool) The only awful thing was the gargling numbing stuff - and I only slightly remember the docs face looking at me and Dr. Schirmer telling her to give me more of the drugs. According to my aftercare nurse everything was normal, but I do have a small hiatal hernia (which we kinda already knew). I am finally in my nightgown and I am going to lay down before this headache requires serious narcotics. Andrea

Thanks Tammy. It is wierd how you aren't totally asleep, but you don't remember anything either. I just woke up from a nap and I feel much better - hungry even. Andrea

Thanks Shele! I believe it was a post med headache - I fell asleep almost instantly and I woke up about 30 minutes ago and feel so much better - your wishes worked. Hugs, Andrea

Thanks Miss Prissy! Your new picture looks GREAT! I can't wait until I can start changing mine. The time is really flying by. Next week on Thursday I have a gallbladder ultrasound, a pre-op appointment with Dr. Schirmer and then PFTs and blood gases in the afternoon. I have heard stories that the blood gases are the worst - but we shall see. I will hang in there! I promise. Hugs, Andrea
