Where did you find the plateau buster diet? I think I could use it myself. Thanks!

Here it is..... How to break a plateau #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/boullion crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!

A caveat to this list is that the peanut butter while listed with the meat shouldn't be a 3 oz serving. 3 oz of peanut butter would be an exorbitant amount of calories. I'd say 2 TBSP is a serving (that's 180 cals). Kathy

Kathy, you're absolutely right! In my own mind I figured people would somehow know that about the peanut butter....... also that a little 6 oz. of yogurt at 70 calories or so would NOT be taken as two servings...... but, alas, it is not so! I started a thing on the main board, and I'm staying out of it! I always look at these things with a grain of salt, and then adapt it to what's best for me. I know this is not the most nutritionally sound diet, but it's temporary, and hopefully bumping me off this plateau, and most importantly, helping me get the carb and sugar cravings under control. I believe "balance" is the key in everything - food, exercise, life, etc. So I would never do this diet permanently! I believe we all need a balance of healthy carbs, protein, veggies, fruit, milk products, etc. It is "extremes" and a lack of a balance that brought me to the point where I had surgery, so I won't be going back there. Anyway........ everyone, do what's best for YOU! Don't take anything at face value! Crystal

May I ask where you got this diet from or who told you about it? Does your nutritionist say its okay? Just curious.....I'm 6 months out and hit a plateau a month ago but just started drinking more water and less carbs...I'm back on track thank god!
