Protein Drinks
Hi Christine,
Thanks for the info. you have been a big help. I have a babysitter for the weekdays so I should be good to go during the day. I will just have to make my husband do all the night stuff. I am going to try alot of different mixtures of protein drinks with the Crystal Light. Thanks again for the great advice. Keep up the good job you are doing walking. See ya on the loosing side.

Hello again Crystal...I am back again to make another "addition" to my previous comments. As of this morning I am 1 week out and for the first time, I am exhausted. I had so much energy for a couple days but I feel kinda wiped today. As long as you have a babysitter to take care of the kids so that you can take a nap, you'll be great. I started out planning to go back to work in 1 week. I then revised it to 2. I have been approved for disability through June 30th so I may take the 2 weeks after my 2 weeks out part time...depends on how I feel once I get to eat something (Sunday...woo hoo). This is about me and I am taking care of myself...you need to do the same (in terms of work...obviously kids are a diff story). As far as the protein goes...I am having trouble getting it all down but what I have found is helping me is instead of burdening and stressing myself over a big ole protein drink, I pour myself about 4 oz at a time. Take a sip, walk away...take another sip, etc. If you put it in a regular glass, it really looks like nothing...still takes a little while to get it in but doesn't feel like, OMG I have to drink this WHOLE NASTY THING. No matter how bad the taste, we can all get through a sip every few mins...Anyway, gotta go take a sip!! Good luck girl!!

1 WEEK OUT!! WOOO HOOO!!!
Hi Christine,
You give the best advice. I am not a big drinker anyway, I can drink the same drink for 5 or 6 hours. That is a good idea. I just have to make myself drink more. The job thing about my job is that my mom owns the storage company I work for and the office is in her house so if nothing is going on I can take a nap. But I am going to take 2 weeks off to rest at my house until I can drive again. I live 30 mins. from work. You just take it easy and keep sipping. Thanks again. I may have to call on you again for advice after my surgery.

Crystal..
ALWAYS make sure you put the drink in a sipper cup thingy !!! Man, if I got a whiff of that stuff again I think I would faint. My husband made one for me and brought it up in a lead crystal beer glass when I was fresh post op. He thought it would make it more palatable and pleasing to the eye..which when I first saw it it did look pretty...Then I got the whiff...I am telling you..I would rather be stuck in a small bar with sweaty men who had been drinking tequilla and eating mexican food all night. It made me deathly ill !!..
You will notice that your tastes change after surgery. I bought tons of different flavors and only like one now post op !!! It is hard to tell what you will perfer.
Congrats on your upcoming surgery !!! It has been a very fun experience for me. It is awsome to see those numbers on the scale go down !!

I had the same problems you had with mixing the protein powders...and the smell...nasty. Anyway, I absolutely love the Isopure protein that is premade. It comes in a 20 oz bottle and has 40 grms of protein in it. It comes in a lot of flavors like grape frosh, pinapple bannana, apple...I like them all except the peach mango. The peach mango has a bitter aftertaste to me. You can get them on bariatriceating.com. They taste great and I haven't missed a day of protein yet.
